I disagree. Stafford is no scrub.

Scrub? I wouldn't call him that, but in a world without newton, I still wouldn't want Stafford.

Stafford is like Jake Delhomme's evil twin.  Used to be Delhomme could look lousy for an entire game but then suddenly be clutch when it counted.  By contrast, Stafford can look good for an entire game then blow it when it's all on the line.

Mind you, tonight's disaster wasn't Stafford's fault, but I'm talking about his history.

Because it essentially was a fumble "recovery", IMO it should've been automatically reviewed. However, it was in Seattle, so ........ no.

As explained by ESPN rules analyst Gerry Austin after the game (and confirmed to ESPN by NFL V.P. of officiating Dean Blandino), Wright committed an illegal bat that should have given the ball back to the Lions at the spot where they lost possession, with the ball moved half the distance to the goal line.

Eventually the NFL is going to have to move to making almost everything on the field reviewable.

With all the money in this sport, and all the technology we have today, still having these blatantly wrong calls is a travesty.

Also, full time refs already, why this hasn't been done is beyond me. The NFL is pulling in billions.
