Anyone remember the article on Tannehill after Cam got paid?

Cam got his contract after Tannehill and this ESPN writer took the time to I don't know, try to calm all Dolphins fans down by pretty much implying a QB, our QB, received more much and he shouldn't have

But Cam Newton's reported $103.8 million extension Tuesday furthered Dye's point. That brings the total six-year value of Newton’s contract to $118 million. Tannehill's six-year total ($96 million) is $22 million less.

Is Newton $22 million better than Tannehill as a quarterback? Their metrics say absolutely not.

Pretty short article

But lets fast forward to the present, Dolphins just fired head coach Joe Philbin and "sources" are saying out of Miami that.... Tannehill has been struggling against PRACTICE squad players and had a few words after his struggles towards them

On Saturday during practice, Tannehill, after a couple of practice squad players forced turnovers, Tannehill made negative comments toward them, including saying: “Enjoy your practice squad paycheck, enjoy your practice squad trophy.”

Sources say this has been going on for the past few weeks as the practice squad players have been intercepting Tannehill and frustrating the former Texas A&M wide receiver turned quarterback.

Cold blooded mate. Apparently Philbin told the practice squad players to go "easy" on Ryan. Maybe he should have went even harder on Ryan, might still be the HC

You think that is something. You should read Mike Florio's article about Jay Cutler after he got that ridiculous contract from the Bears 2 years ago. Profootballtalk was literally praising the Bears for securing the services of "a great franchise QB" that they can compete with for the next 6 years.

And this was after McCown completely outplayed Cutler that season as his backup. That didn't stop PFT from praing the Bears for giving Jay that mess of a deal.

That WR converted to QB excuse in the article is BS. Tannehill is a year older than Cam. And even though he converted from WR he's played high level (Div 1, NFL) QB just as long because Cam only had 1 year at Auburn. Learn to keep up, sweetheart.

Also noticed that Dalton turns 28 this month, he's 2 years older than Cam.

Cam is the same age as Goldenboy Luck.

Cam was young when he got here and had very little experience and was a very, very raw "project" player. Yet look at how far he's advanced and what he's doing in year 5 with arguably the worst supporting cast in the league.

Next year KB will be back, Funch will have experience and DG will continue to bolster the offense. Cam is on the cusp of greatness. I truly believe the next 5-6 years, while he's in his prime, he's gonna shred the NFL.

I usually like to think I know things..but I did not know these nuggets. Great add..and very relative to the conversation. We are now entering Cams athletic peak 26-30. Thats SMH awesome!

Who remembers this conversation we heard over and over in 2012/2013:

"Question of the day for us guys here at ESPN: Who is the best young quarterback in the league today?

Luck

RG3

Kaepernick

Tannehill

Dalton

Wilson"

And then Cam might be thrown in as an honorable mention.

This year, Cam has been undoubtedly the best of all. The only other one you can say has played well is Russell Wilson and you can make the argument that Luck will rebound and won't be garbage forever. But you had tons of people saying Tannehill was better, some saying Dalton was better, EVERYBODY saying RG3 and Kaepernick were better.

Where are those people now?

Cam's career QB rating is actually higher than Goldenboy Luck's too!

We all remember, although I will admit the saltiness has lessened so much since then. However, I'm counting down to play Indy.

I say it's age 26-35, look at guys like Brees and Brady, other guys like Manning and Favre. You can play QB until your 40, hell Hassleback is literally 40 years old and won a game yesterday as Luck's backup. We have our franchise QB for atleast the next 13 years, barring major injury ofcourse

I have said this before a while back, when it comes to this young QB discussion as much as they have shown Cam no respect when the smoke clears Cam is gonna be the only one left standing while everybody else will be second string or out the league, the only other one i can see sticking around is Wilson and maybe Luck. RG3 is pretty much there now and Kaep is next :-)

Credit where it's due, Dalton has been balling out so far this year.

Then again he hasn't played a primetime game yet, but he's still played very very well so far.

Kornhieser said Kaperdick (don't really if I spelled that right) was now RG3...my how the love has gone away.

But...they will fall for anybody...Manzeil, instead of embracing the inevitable, Cam will be the best of all of this generation, even over Wilson.

Cam is not going to play at a high level for 13 years. He isn't the same qb as the guys you mentioned. We need a super bowl from him in the next six years.
