That would be great if we didn't have to pay Star, KK, Benjamin, Benwikere, Norwell, Kalil, Turner, etc over the next 1-3 years while maintaining cap flexibility. Not to mention we've been in cap purgatory for years and are finally coming clean. DG isn't gonna blow his wad on a 29-30yo CB who's only productive season(s) were contract years. We desperately need a DE, and could also use a WR. If DG is gonna spend big money I'd almost guarantee it'll be on a FA DE or WR before a CB.

Norman is going to be the odd man out due to his age and contract demands. People need to just accept it now. 

DG will tag him next summer and we'll get another great year out of him playing out of his mind chasing money. Then he'll be 30 years old and DG will let some other team overpay him. 

Watch him end up in Chicago in two years. They overpay for our FA's just like we rape them through trades.

And that's are teams out there that will pay Norman more money than DG just gave to Luke Kuechly. Do you seriously think DG is gonna give a 29-30yo hot head CB with 1-2 years elite play on his resume more money than he gave a 24yo NFL DPOY who is arguably the best defensive player in the league? It's not gonna happen. 

This obsession and emotional attachment our fanbase has with every single good player and wanting to pay them and make them all Panthers for life is ridiculous. Y'all are probably the guys that go on one or two dates then go home and start daydreaming about a wedding. Just enjoy Norman this season, and possibly next, and quit worrying about if he's gonna be here making $13m in 2017-18.

I agree with all of this. Dude will get tagged and play one more season here and then a team like the skins or Dallas will overpay him. His skills will start to diminish in a couple of years and no way will he then be worth top tier money.

He's just coming into his prime. It's quite an adjustment from playing Coastal Carolina to the NFL. He has put all the work in and has proven that he deserves to be paid like a top CB last year and so far this year. You better believe he will get paid huge.

I agree with BigD that it would be a mistake to price him after his best game EVER, and right after a string of games against pretty awful teams. I think waiting until the end of the year, or at least later after we've played against better QB's, would be the smarter move. I have a feeling that his stats will settle down, particularly wit his name getting out there. QB's won't throw at him as much. Ice Up Peanut. They are coming for you.

this guy is getting paid 5th round draft pick money.  It looks like he's going to get a deal north of 11 million dollars per year.  I'm not sure Getty will do that.  And I'm going t miss him, because I really like him.

Yes he's a bonehead sometimes but is very talented and a good guy.  The funniest thing about the Cam fight is that both are PK's.  So am I.  And I ain't perfect either.

Norman is not gonna walk, he will get a fair deal, and the Panthers have a lot more money going forward than most of you all think
