epic interview.. no use recapping- just gotta hear it.. whenever it goes up I will post here

http://espn.go.com/espnradio/play?id=13816770

talked about his horse (Delta) and talking with the official about his celebration before he got flagged, said Delta was a majestic horse, the kind a General would ride back in the day.

Russillo asked him if his tammates thought he was "weird" and Josh said "No, but I guess you think I am."

Contract: sounds like Josh isn't looking for a hometown discount. Top Dollar is what he is after.. :(

the fight with Cam in Camp: two lions going at it trying to get the best of each other. He says "look at what cam is doing this year. he's in MVP talks. and he has made me better and love him for it."

No one except for players on the downside of their career give 'hometown discounts.' If he puts together a stellar year, he'll either get tagged or signed by us to a strong contract. Gettleman isn't afraid to pay people, but giving Norman a top dollar contract based on his current body of work is just silly. I love having him on our team and he's playing his way to a contract like that. He's not there yet.

He's just coming into his prime. It's quite an adjustment from playing Coastal Carolina to the NFL. He has put all the work in and has proven that he deserves to be paid like a top CB last year and so far this year. You better believe he will get paid huge.

From the numbers I'm seeing, the CB franchise tag number (for this year) is a touch over 13 million.  Familiar number, which could play out a familiar way...without the domestic violence and all.

Extending or cutting CJ, cutting Harper/Stewart, and some other moves, and we can easily fit a long-term Norman deal in (with space left over obviously).  But, will we if he's looking for say 12+ million? Going to be an interesting offseason.

We can also cut Dwan and Cotchery. And I don't see how Kalil doesn't get restructured.

That franchise tag is coming.  we went to back to back nfcs champs and playoffs without him.  now everyone wants to pay him.  thank god fans aren't in control of tough decisions.

Not sure what you mean, as he was definitely a big part of the resurgence late last year.

We don't make the playoffs last year without Josh. Not a chance. And in 2013 he would've brought us to the Super Bowl if he was playing then like he is now. Lot of players gone from that team, most notably on D is Hardy. We wouldn't be 4-0 right now without Josh. It's a no brainer to extend him. Franchise tag would be completely fuging stupid, thank God you aren't in control of tough decisions. $13M for a 1 year rental? Hell no. Franchise tags are used when you have a franchise player that you want to re-sign and the sides haven't come to terms on a contract. Rarely do players play out the year on the tag. And per Voth we had no intentions of re-signing Hardy even had the arrest not happened. Gettleman has learned his lesson. Franchise tag is only coming if they can't agree on a deal before the season begins which is extremely unlikely.

this year is as relevant as his previous years.  we won our division back to back without him one year and he contributed down the stretch the second year.  that deserves a 100M commitment?  no freaking way.  i like josh a lot.  but we just had a huge deal go down just for a player to get injured.  josh will play the year out, and if we can't come to terms, he'll probably be tagged.  he'll be 30 years old at that point, and we'll have used up his best years while saving the money to put into the dline.
