So I watched Frank K's summer league highlights, why was he a bad pick?

First off, I will admit that while im a active follower and passionate Hornets fan I dont follow them as avidly as I do the Panthers and the NFL nearly every waking minute of the day lol. However, with the NBA season fast approaching, I am actively getting more and more involved, also admittedly, much like the NFL, im not savvy on the in depth Xs and Os as some others on here..

Now with that being said, I do remember fans on here being up in arms and bashing Cho and MJ into oblivion after the Frank pick on draft night, I went back and watched Frank's highlights and he has superstar potential all over him. Yes, I realize that how players look in summer league needs to be taken with a HUGE grain of salt, but one thing im huge on is if a player be it football or basketball passes the eye test and Frank the Tank does in spades.

He looks like men among boys and he just has this on court presence and awareness to him you see out of 10 year vets, a big man that can knock down 3s with ease, create his own shot and defend quite well. After watching what I watched I am beyond excited and I dont get why fans hated the pick so much.

I like Frank. I think he can be a very good player. What made him a bad pick is

1. We passed a legit superstar talent in Justise Winslow for him

2. We have drafted PFs in the top 10 the previous two years (Zeller, Vonleh)

Frank will be a good player, I just think the ineptness of our FO has frustrated everyone, and rightfully so.

It was a bad pick because you don't turn down a trade offer of 6 draft picks for Frank f'n Kaminsky.

I'm glad they turned down that silly offer. Quantity does equal quality especially in the NBA draft. Frank probably has a much better chance of succeeding with the Hornets than anyone we could have drafted with those late 1st and 2nd round picks that Boston offered.

Danny Ainge just tried to use the reputation of the Hornets' front office as a way of saving face with disappointed Celtics' fans. He even played up the trade by saying he was glad that the Hornets turned him down because he offered too much. But he failed to mention that the Hornets weren't the only team to turn down his trade.

I also think it would have been a bad trade, the NBA is about having that one or two special player/players, not a ton of draft picks, that works in the NFL because you can never have too much depth in the NFL..

With the off season moves we made with what, like 5 or so new faces, the last thing we need is a log jam of 3 or 4 other players. It's like Dave Gettleman said about his draft philosophy when it comes to trades, something along the lines of I rather have 1 dollar instead of 3 quarters, or something like that.

What made me the angriest was that before we even heard a whisper about Kaminsky I said that the Hornets would take a PF because that was the most illogical move. They proceeded to do what I said as a joke.

But the Hornets have never really hit on any of their draft picks, so that would've given them more opportunity to do so. I get what you're saying, but I think successful franchises like the Spurs can use that logic much easier than a team that consistently drafts busts.
