KK to be Great

Recommended Posts

We made the mistake with Witherspoon and Morgan, I hope we don't do it again!

yes, the great Withspoon that went to the highest bidder, and didn't do poo, cause he was not playing his natural position. Then when moved on from that team, he still failed to make a big impact on any team he was with.

Thank you for your efforts, but that comparison failed.

Draft position after the fact has nothing to do with who will be paid more after the rookie deal.

Whoever played better on the field will be getting paid more.

Short was a massive steal in the draft. Easily the best pass rushing DT in that draft. Dumb ass GM's

actually that isn't actually always true. First rounders for example get longer rookie deals and more time to prove themselves where as later round guys often have shorter contracts and less time to prove themselves or develop.  Given that it often takes years for guys to develop  they may not get the big money until a third contract or later.  Plus lower round guys aren't kept as often as first rounders even with the same talent because they are supposedly easily replaceable and didn't cost as much to acquire.

Now that might have nothing to do with Short since he is playing at a high level and gettleman doesn't seem to care about those kinds of things so you may be right about Short.  But draft position does impact players more than you suggest. And yes you can find a dozen guys who don't fit the mold and a bunch more who do.

I've heard several players say that draft position follows you your whole career in a status way. Coaches and other players factor that into how you are treated. Which makes sense in a way. Not that it should but that it does.

Victor Cruz and Tony Romo are flipping you off from their mansion.

I have nothing of value to add.

tough call, but are we saying Star has health problems now after missing 3 games? you guys are outta here.

No, I'm saying he potentially has health problems after having two separate foot issues within a year at 300+ pounds.  Foot issues often become chronic in huge people.  One?  Not necessarily a big deal.  Two?  Hmmm...  Three?  Yikes.

KK wasn't far off from being a pro-bowler last year, even though he didn't start. Had Star been healthy last season, we wouldn't have been so terrible at defending the rush.

We need both of these guys to stay healthy with fresh-legs during every game.

I look forward to seeing how Ealy does as a DT...he's much quicker than any of our DTs and that could lend him to getting into the backfield and drumming up some much-needed QB pressure.

Why do so many feeble minded think it's going to come down to kk or star..... We have a fifth year option on Star that we can invoke. Both if producing will be Panthers for years to come. CJ and his $20 million salary will be off the books, dead money will be gone, Smith and Godfrey money will be gone, Stewart will be gone.... Long story short, if Gettleman thinks they are both long term pieces, then both will get deals to stay

Reading is fundamental.  As the OP I mentioned you smart ass comment.   The question was....  IF you had to choose who would you keep.  Simple question, So before you call people Feeble how about reading the post and let it sink in before you pop off with your smart ass comments.

if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle.... Stop playing the if game.

IF you don't like the Post then don't fuging comment.  Pretty plain and simple.

This game of football, that many of us knowledgeable fans follow, is full of IF.  IF you aren't prepared for everything you lose.

So in your case.  You aren't prepared therefore you lose.

END OF STORY LOSER..

We have the ability to carry Star through 2017 and I fully expect us to do so.

We can carry KK through the 2016 season, and I fully expect him to be signed to an extension before the start of the 2016 season if he stays healthy.  Then we can have another full year to evaluate Star before having to make that call.

IMO both will be here through 2017, and both could be here through 2020 if they stay healthy.
