Brandt gives Cam some love (some MVP whispers through three games)

I am 100% behind Cam, but this statement here is ridiculous. Cam is growing into an elite QB by emulating the path set by Brady in his preparation, attention to detail, and post-snap recognition. I don't buy Brady as a GOAT or anything but the man is an elite QB, end of story. The Patriots can build the scheme they have because they trust Brady to understand and maximize it, much like how our offense is designed completely around Cam and requires his full command in order to succeed.

Not getting into this on here.

It's an interesting discussion, but I don't see it happening. Cam will be at a huge handicap to Aaron Rodgers. We would have to beat the Packers and go 13-3 or 14-2 for this to happen and for Cam to keep up his level of play. Not impossible, but extremely unlikely.

You're probably right, simply because the voters are reluctant to think outside of the box. In many ways the MVP thing is a popularity contest (kind of like a football message board), and we all know that Cam isn't going to win any popularity contests for different reasons.  But if people were to completely judge his accomplishments (thus far) on a relative basis, like Brandt suggests, then the argument for Cam is most compelling.

I could see Cam winning MVP only under a few circumstances. Panthers become #1 seed, and beat big name teams like the Colts, Packers AND Seahawks. AND he's got to end up with atleast 62% completion, 40 TDs total, less than 12 INT and atleast 4500 total yards. I think he'll almost certainly end up with those stats but the key is winning. At 3-0 people are talking about him as MVP. If we were 0-3 with him playing the exact same on offense but our D was a little bit worse and we lost instead, nobody would be talking about him.

It's time that I walk in to work and point and laugh at all of my co-workers. The ones that laughed at me when I explained how much better Cam is over Russell Wilson. I told them Cam is a Top 5 QB last year.

Now that the national media finally sees this, their little minds can understand.

Big words about arguably the best QB who has ever played the game. Belichick really wasn't poo before Brady. You know that.  But I'm not going to go off on a tangent about Brady, Luck, RG3, Wilson or any of them. This is all about Cameron Jerrell Newton!

Didn't Belichick win 12 games one year with Brady's back up? And the Patriots were a good team-with a good QB (Drew Bledsoe) before Brady's arrival?? So I'm not so sure.

Yeah, they went 11-5 with Matt Cassel. Bledsoe was decent, but Brady was the man that carried the Patriots and Belichick to the next level. But just to entertain you, here is an article that makes a case for BB, and TB:

One thing is for sure, you can't give all the credit to either man.
