Pewter Report Expectations (prepare to laugh)

I'm not laughing at anything . I learned my lesson last week when Kurt Warner said before the game that McCown would throw for 300 yards on us and I laughed out loud and called him an idiot.

Yeah, you can't underestimate anybody in the NFL, especially division opponents. W-L records don't mean squat in these games.

Nah, it's hard for me to laugh at anything when the Panthers lose. Hell, we're not much different anyway. There have been 50 threads complaining about Shula already, and we're 3=0 with a bunch of nobody's playing WR.

This is why the Bucs deserve to be laughed at. Even if they start yapping about a Super Bowl win a million years ago.

The Darrelle Revis trade keeps getting worse for the Sucs

I'm starting to get the feeling we may leave 3-1, just feel like we're barely getting by right now and it won't be good enough, especially with some of the injuries.

True, but Lovie Smith is no Sean Payton, and CJ hasn't been healthy when hes played anyway. Allen may be the shot in the arm the pass rush needs.

Also another week for Star to get back up to speed, and it's likely Jameis won't be as conservative with his passes as McCown was last week.

    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
    • Well, we got our answer on Army today.
    • Not a chance the SEC could compete with the NFL.  In the large cities that are not in the Southeast, (LA, NYC, Chicago, SF) College football is an afterthought.
