Week 4 Power Rankings

Arroz con Panther

Cam Newton.  If he isn't considered as a top MVP candidate then................................  He is carrying this team offensively like no other player in the league.  He looked great against the Saints.  I agree with the rankings for the most part, if anything, we might be a little too high with a couple of them.  But hell, what does any of it mean anyway?

Squeaking by against the awesome foes we have faced so far, gives me far less reason to want to crow about rankings.  As a Panther fan, I am certainly glad we are 3-0.  As a football fan, I could just as easily see us finishing .500.  Several areas of concern, but I guess they don't call em Cardiac Cats for nothing.  Oline is pass protecting better and that has given the offense a real boost.  The Dline needs to wake up.  Hoping JA is the alarm clock we have been waiting on.

In your Huddle tenure, this is the single most positive post I've ever seen from you.

(golf clap)

I'll be honest, I don't get the Cam as MVP talk. I love Cam, and I think he's a great player, but his passer rating and completion percentage were poo in his first two games. Yeah there were drop issues, but I just see these comments as an overreaction to a cool rushing TD two weeks ago and a solid game against a terrible Saints defense. I hope his solid play continues, as do I hope the WRs continue to hold on to the ball, but lets not get too far ahead of ourselves yet.

Cam gaining a lot of attention, deservedly so. Like I've said before, he'll be a top-three MVP candidate if we finish with a 11-12 win season.

It's already been decided by the media that Brady will be MVP this year to stick it to Goodell.

He's our entire offense. The only player you can say that about in the league right now. Not that our offense is necessarily winning us games, but he's carried that side of the ball on the way to 3-0.

I don't buy that. Olsen looked terrific last game. Our offensive line has looked better than it has in years.

Yeah, Ginn and Brown aren't the best starting WRs in the league (to say the least), but good QBs make due. It not like they haven't both gotten open for TDs downfield. Remember the McNabb days in Philly? He never had any WR's before TO and made it to the NFCG two years in a row. To say he's the entire offense is hyperbole. Everyone inside the numbers (Stewart included) is playing good football.

It's hard to rank us too highly because of the competition we've been playing and the rash of injuries we've sustained.

basicly, we've played just good enough to beat the teams we are supposed to beat and although "any given Sunday," we're getting the job done against lesser opponents.

One of these days, we'll actually have a healthy team and have some sense of continuity and that will yield to a dangerous and favored team, regardless of the competition.

Just glad we have most of our super-stars signed for the future.

Keep pounding.
