Panthers Trade for Jared Allen

Hardy is a better player than Jared Allen right now, I don't think it can even come close to competing with what we had in 2013 where we led the league in sacks.

Who said anything about downplaying 2013.  I initially said that this DL could become one of our greatest defensive lines in our history.  I don't think that is out of the realm of possibility.

For the record I loved our DL with Hardy and Johnson and the two rookies.  God only knows how great they could have been last year.  But the fact is, that never happened

Allen could easily bring to the table everything Hardy did.  Let's not forget it hasn't been too long ago that Jared Allen was the top DE in the league.  Not long ago at all.  With the right mix he could easily pick up where he left off.

What Hardy didn't benefit from that Allen will.  Short and Star are veterans that have a couple of years under their belt.  So arguably better than they were as rookies in 2013.

Since I can't respond to the other thread...someone's being all Meegan

I am pinning this as an example of what a terrible thread is.

If there is breaking news, and in your rush to be so super cool to post it here first that you post zero content thus making it a worthless thread it will be replaced by a better one.

OP failed miserably here. Do better.

Jared Allen having us on the short list of his teams he wanted to be traded to has me pretty damn excited.

Why SOJA?

Because Allen is at the twilight of his career and he wants to win now. The Panthers are largely still viewed as a bottom feeder team, a team with an immature leader, the team that lucked into the playoffs, the team that won back to back titles but in the worst division in football- but not in the eyes of former All-Pro Jared Allen.

What he sees is potential.

If that doesn't excite you about the future of this team after getting off to an undefeated start despite critical injuries, I'm not sure you should be a Panthers fan.

Great is that sounds i think you are reaching here. Allen is a seasoned vet and will definitely help us better than what we got to other day but lets just keep it in perspective we dont need him to be Hardy or acquired him to live up to that play. Pass rush is key to our D and he will help with that, Hardy type production is wishful thinking.

i've never understood the freak-out fest of trying to be the first one to post news. it's not like you're actually breaking real news, you're just being the first loser to click "new topic" and fat-finger a double-digit line of text without bothering to include the link of the guy who actually broke the news.

this place gets a lot of traffic on news searches for the panthers, so if you're admin it makes perfect sense to replace a shitty, hair-trigger sneeze of a thread with actual content two minutes later.

some of y'all take this poo too srs.

I know it won't happen but since the Bears are in full rebuild mode, I would be willing to make a blockbuster trade for Alshon Jeffery. I would do Klein/1st/3rd rounder for Jeffrey

your age is showing, you clearly don't know the Panthers and obviously play far too much Madden.
