Video of the Cam no-call linked in this thread

So Cam can get wrapped up by JJ Watt at full blast and not go down, but a simple love tap by a no-name Saint makes him go flying down? Obvious flop, I wouldn't want to reward him for that if I was Hochuli.

that's a ridiculous conclusion

if cam would have let the ball go on that first pump fake, then I would agree with you, but cam pumped once, and b/c the defender noticed he still had the ball, he kept pursuing him. Once the ball was finally let go, as Ronde Barber said "Cam sorta flopped"

The defender wasn't even touching him when he pump faked.  In fact, he didn't get his hands on him until right at the moment, or just after he threw the ball.  Then Cam took 3 or 4 steps, then the defender spun him around a little, causing Cam to fall.  These views make it pretty clearly an illegal act.

Not unreasonable, and it wasn't a clear-cut thing.  Definitely not as blatant as I thought it would be but still a violation of the rules that could, and perhaps would for other players, have been called.

And on the topic of Cam's acting/flopping, he absolutely does this on occasion and I don't particularly like it.  But I understand why he feels the need to, because they're simply not calling the penalties that they should so he has to embellish it to get the proper call.  And Cam's "flopping" is typically slowing up sooner than he naturally would so a defender's momentum knocks him over, it's not exactly a Verejao (or however you spell his name) style, completely fabricated flop.  Cam embellishes.

It's unnecessary roughness, based on that video. Cam threw the ball, then the guy puts his hands on him. I'll agree it's a 50/50.

There were other instances of defenses putting their hands on him after the pass in this game..I'll re watch and post.

im just fed-up with Cam getting hit so much with no flags...'cause it happens a lot.

Again, I saw the play live from the opposite angle... the Saints player absolutely pushed Cam and if you watch that video, he took about 3 extra steps AFTER Cam threw the ball to do so.

I completely agree.  That and if you watch Cam the entire time it just looks like he's running and falling down. If you watch the Saint's arms there's a clear push.  If Cam is acting, then I can't wait to see what he does after his QB career is over. Dude's gonna win an Oscar before Dicaprio.

his momentum was already leaning towards cam trying to make the tackle b/c CAM still had the ball in his hand after the first pump fake. Also, the tackle clearly occurred in the field of play, and the momentum of both players led them out of bounds. If the contact was actually made out of bounds, then I would agree that a flag should have been thrown. But this was definitely not unnecessary roughness.

Besides the fact that the defender DID NOT have his hands on Cam before the pass anyway, after Cam throws the ball, the defender is obligated to do whatever is reasonable to avoid further contact.  That would require REMOVING HIS HANDS FROM CAM.  He didn't.  Open and shut case.

http://blackandbluereview.com/postgame-video-ed-hochuli-told-cam-newton-not-old-enough-to-get-call/

The controversy isn't about the call/non-call. It's about what was said after.

Yeah, but it's what the statement possibly implies - that if Cam were something other than Cam, in this case 'older', he would have gotten the call.

I'm really not that interested in it other than the fact that Hochuli denied saying it.  Why not just clear up the misunderstanding and move on?  Not saying there's a conspiracy, but it's just odd.
