So where are we in the NFC (and the NFL)

I think it's really hard to say right now because of the teams we've played.

I don't think we are in the top echelon of teams yet, but I think we will get better as we get further into the season because of the way this team is built. We are a tough team built around a stout defense so it will be interesting to see whether we can keep up when we play some high octane offenses like Green Bay, Phili and Indy.

In the NFC I think Green Bay are far and away the best team, I think we are on the next level down from them with Seattle, Arizona, Atlanta and Minnesota.

We should go into the bye 4-0 so it'll be interesting to see if we start getting some respect by then.

arizona looks like the best team in the NFL right now. That offense is absolutely on fire and their front 4 and secondary are as good as they come.

To me, I think we're in the top 5 in the NFC.

1. Cardinals

2. Packers

3. Falcons

4. Panthers

5. Vikings

cowboys are top five

Cards and Pack are in a tier of their own in the NFC. The Seahawks come after in their own tier because you know they will always be there. Cowboys will be 4th once (if) they get Romo and Dez back. Then I see the Falcons and Panthers in the that 5th/6th tier.

The Cards seem legit. Packers seem to be having a rough start, but to not see how good they are is willful ignorance.

Seahawks are not a top 5 team in the NFC right now though. If you seriously think they look better than the Panthers, I'd love to hear your explanation. They just have not looked good. Until the 3rd quarter in today's game, they looked very average. You can't base ranking on past seasons. They were never truly in the St. Louis game, but St. Louis mistakes lead to points. Then today, they won because again, Tyler Lockett made a ST play. Not to dismiss their lone win blowout on the scoreboard, but they just do not seem like a team to be feared right now.

Right now, the Panthers are top 3 to me. People look at close scores as if you squeaked by. We didn't squeak by last week or this week. We handled both games. We were never truly out of control. Outscoring your opponent 27-12 after spotting them 10 points is domination. It didn't look pretty, but I had no fear of losing to the Saints. None.

Falcons are basically just Julio Jones. They'll get exposed in time. Matt Ryan is not the god that analysts make him out to be and J No has already proven he can lock down Julio. Plus their defense is still not very good. Cowboys are good, but need Dez and Romo to maintain where they are. They'll start free falling if Weeden and that defense can't protect a lead. I'd put them below the Falcons though, so 5th. Vikings are decent, but I'm not entirely sold that they are going to stick around all season. NY has looked decent enough, but their defense is costing them.

1. Cards

2. Packers
3. Panthers
4. Falcons
5. Cowboys
6. Vikings
7. NY
8. Seattle

That's my playoff picture as of this minute. Seattle seriously does not worry me right now. Limit the big play and play good ST, and you'll beat that team.
