Yea, it's a shame Jerry had to let public misperception (the following is a completely uninformed assumption) influence him into not letting Gettleman retain the best pass rusher and second best player on our defense.  We could REALLY use Hardy after the bye, which is when he'd be back for us.

Definitely have to look at taking a DE in the 1st come next years NFL draft.  Ealy just isn't getting it done, Johnson showing signs of wear and tear, Addison & Horton are just rotation guys, and Cox, while showing potential in the preseason, he is still a couple of years away from any real strong production.  Too bad Myles Garrett wasn't draft eligible, I would trade up and draft him in a heart beat.

CJ is DeAngelo Williams 2.0, he got paid and let his conditioning go. We won't see the old CJ again until he has to earn his money

He's a quality pass rusher and one of the best run stopping DEs in the league. We can hold down the fort for a while but I hope he heals up and gets back soon.

This will force Rivera to try out Rahim Cox who may turn out to be our 2nd best DE on the team but was never given a shot until injuries. Hmm...where have we heard that before?

CJ is just wearing down.  He's only 29, but he's got a lot of wear and tear on him.  He's had consistent injury issues for the last couple of years now.  I'm not sure we've seen him truly at 100% in a quite some time and at this point, I wonder if we'll ever see it again.

Addressing the pass rush honestly may be our top priority next offseason, but at this point it is what it is this year.  Gonna have to try to address it via scheme, because there's no real help available.

It is just that Star has been gone who usually eats double blockers, so they have been able to neutralize CJ. Even with Star back today he was not at 100% form, and there is no one providing pressure on the other side from CJ, so that is not helping either. Where is Ealy and Addison?

Star's absence hasn't caused CJ to struggle with injuries for the past couple of years.  His body is simply starting to break down.

I swear I would take a goof head Hardy over CJ any day...especially for that price and it sucks that we couldn't afford  Hardy because CJs contract...going to really need a DE or 2 or 3 in the draft.

cant trust hardy not to do something stupid again sadly. talent-wise, he is and was better than CJ. hardy has that switch that goes off and he dominates.
