The "J" Rule

I was just thinking about how big our 1st round picks in the Fox era are playing on this team. But then I noticed a certain trend. In 2002 and 2003 the Panthers drafted Julius Peppers and Jordan Gross and then went to the Super Bowl. Then in 2004-2006 they drafted Chris Gamble, Thomas Davis and DeAngelo Williams. Now in the 2007 and 2008 drafts they drafted Jon Beason, Jonathan Stewart and Jeff Otah and have the best start in franshise history.

New Rule, the Panthers should only draft players who first name starts with the letter "J" in the 1st round of the draft. I'm not saying the Panthers shouldn't have drafted Gamble, Thomas or Williams. However, the "J" players have been the most effective in their rookie seasons and led to a major role in the success of the team.

So in all upcoming drafts we need to look for the players whose first name starts with the letter of "J" and hope for that player to be drafted by the Panthers. Just think, if two years of drafting "J" players gets us to a Super Bowl and the best start in franshise history, what would three or even four straight years of drafting "J" players could do. Dare I say it, Dynisty!

Have fun...
