Funchess getting pushed around still

Jeremy Igo

Just the league trying to keep the panthers from winning but its not working lol this was the worst called game i have seen in a while. Funchess made a tough catch and to a big hit and got up with ball in hand. For being low on the depth chart right now to come off the bench its a positive.

Y'all trying to counter what Jeremy is saying...   He is a wide reciever.   He is supposed to make catches.  It's his job.  He caught ONE pass today, on one target.   That isn't anything to write home about.

The reasons he is struggling to get on the field and be a target once he's on it are why I didn't want him in the first place...   And yet, we traded up to get him lol.  So many guys we could have moved for other than him.   But as long as we keep winning, it really won't matter.

Also, after Ealy's continued suckage, I think it's appropriate to start questioning Gettleman's last two second round picks.

Yeah and the season was over when Benjamin got hurt.  I just thought it was funny that Zod made this thread and then Funchess made a bad ass play immediately afterwards.  That is all.

Yeah, he only had one catch.

But it was a boss ass catch. He got drilled over the middle; took that poo like a man and held onto the ball, and there was an additional 15 yards tacked on.

He showed more on that play than any other WR has this season.

NOW does anyone want to say that "no one" is worried about Funchess?

I normally like OP's threads but this one is awful.

Hanging onto that ball, after that hit, was enough for me to give him a B+ for the game and an A for toughness. He's still a question mark, overall, as far as how good he can be, but the individual aspects of his game look pretty good so far.

but if Bersin makes 1 catch on 1 target he is a "scrappy white guy"who's "a smart route runner and moves the chains" with his 13 receptions last year.

Looks pretty tough to me.

all I know is that he got absolutely demolished on that play where the personal foul was called. 9 out of 10 WRs in the league would have laid down for a while or been on concussion protocol. Not Funchess, he popped right up and gave an emphatic Cam-esque First Down move. I literally got up from my couch and was like, he finally arrived.

I expect more and more from him as the season wears on

Funchess is soft...? Did anyone see him getting absolutely hung out to dry and smashed and he bounced right up? Not sure if any other WR on the team would take that hit and bounce up like Smitty. He is out there about half as much as Brown. Panthers don't seem to use the depth they have.. during a long season keeping Stewart in the entire game when we have CAP and Wegher who might not see any action at all until someone goes down..

Inability to get off a jam is not the same as being soft. I don't think anyone questions his toughness it's more about not being able to handle the adjustment to the more physical pro game.

He's a rookie. A young rookie. It'll take time.
