Bersin Up; Brandon Williams Gone

We had to keep Norwood on the roster.  It would be stupid to cut him days after he got here.  There is a reason we kept Bersin on the Practice Squad under the special veteran rule.

He has a problem getting off the line but the boy doesn't drop passes (normally) and we can't forget that Cam TRUSTS him.  All the Bersin haters need to remember that Cam trust him to catch the ball and will throw it to him.

Brenton Bersin, is that you?

He's basically useless in that he's a fifth WR with no upside. Stop being so sensitive.

Using that logic, every team in the league should just dump their fourth and fifth receivers and go with only their top three guys.

Nobody expects Bersin to be a future superstar, but every team in the league has role players like him that hang around for a while before they move on. Some guys make entire careers out of that, and they actually are valuable in those roles.

To call guys like that 'useless' is just silly. Smart team architects know the value role players provide in helping win games.

It's not just the starters that help teams win.

Webb is still going to get a jersey tommorow, which means more than likely either Norwood, Bersin or Funchess isnt. Kind of a pointless move.

J Jones tweeted this earlier.  It makes no sense to call up Bersin and then not activate him.  He'll be active tomorrow.  Assume Funch & Norwood will be too.  Not so sure about Webb.

So many flaws here. He's useless because he's a seldom used, low talent, 5th WR. Calling him a role player is ridiculous. What role does he play? 1 target a game? He's far from a role player. He's quite literally the 53rd player on the roster that the organization is looking to upgrade on at all times.

Why in the in the world would a team promote a guy to the active roster, a process requiring them to cut another player, just to deactivate him?

It's a concept I like to call "depth", and it helps in numerous ways, not the least of which  is allowing you to rest your starters a little when they get tired .

You might wanna look it up. It's actually very popular in football circles.

Teams keep 53 players and activate 45 guys on game day for a reason.

Nice try, champ. It's not 'depth' when the players are guys that can be picked up off the street. Depth is when you have capable backups. Maybe you should look it up.
