Bersin Up; Brandon Williams Gone

Hmm, I think people advocating for Joe Webb at WR are reading a bit much into a few quotes about that from Rivera.

I highly doubt even Ron (who at this point is probably just about Webb's biggest supporter) actually wants to see that happen. Besides, even if it did, and Webb played less than adequate or made a mistake, the same people would in all likelihood quickly switch to calling for his head. That's the huddle.

well a utility guy isn't expected to be that good at anyone thing

Webb can play WR.  It isn't talk.  He didn't it before he got here.

Webb can 100% can catch late game garbage balls. I still think Swole Bones should of had some real reps.  There were posts about all that prior to the Texans game.   More upside than Bersin

Well, I am too, although considering the temporary loss of Cotchery, a 2-0 start, and a weak Saints team, why would anyone be disappointed about trying to add a sure handed option here?  This rotation needs a  chance to try to overcome the deserved reputation of being sub-par compared to other teams. I don't care if people "think" Bersin isn't worthy of an NFL roster position, throw him in there. I'm not convinced Philly, Funchess, Norwood, and Bersin are all failures. Opportunity in the NFL can sometimes deliver surprising results. Cotchery being temporarily out of the mix might be one of those situations.

We lead the league in drops right now, agree with you 100%.

Why bring up Haplo's name? Is he even in here?

IIt's the kind of moronic drivel he regularly contributes when talking about guys like Bersin.

And got let go because he wasn't good enough.

We originally brought him in as a quarterback.

well, our current #1 was let go for not being good enough too....

and this isn't about Webb vs Bersin.  Webb can come in and catch late garbage balls.  Point was Williams vs Bersin....better options seems to keep the crazy freak talent  when given two meh options.  No one is talking about Webb coming in and being a factor....he could easily step in during beatings when we go 4 wide.  That is basically Bersin's role as the 4-5 in this offense

Not really going to bother arguing about Webb. He's listed as a QB, I'll leave it at that.

As for Williams, the "upside" angle is pretty much completely exhausted considering his contract is up after this season. If it were going to happen, it would be this year.

Actually what we have 'enough' of is receivers who don't catch the ball in the first place.

Take a look at the Patriots receiving corps. You won't find any 'threat to score every time they touch the ball' wide receivers in that bunch.

but but but... Donald LaFell!!!

Upstate, I hope your matters in your personal life have taken a turn for the better.

Still in my thoughts and prayers, bro.

yeah i was joking. i am happily devoted to my gf. she is doing better, but heavily medicated so take that with a grain of salt. she has an appointment next week to see Dr. Lytle, a neurologist in Asheville. they will decide on a course of treatment then. there's still a chance she will need brain surgery. but multiple people here on the Huddle from the Triad have told me that doctors have ways to access the affected part of her brain without open-skull surgery. that is encouraging. Thank God for modern medicine.

I'm only talking about inserting a bad WR into blowouts....Webb can do that.  Which isn't really asking him to be much of a WR at all.

This year as barely started.  We know much more about Bersin than Williams.  Williams has the physical tools every NFL is trying to obtain to exploit opponents.   So why cut him to bring in a blowout 4th WR option?
