Nice try, champ. It's not 'depth' when the players are guys that can be picked up off the street. Depth is when you have capable backups. Maybe you should look it up.

No, that's the depth chart, which every team has. Not every team has depth. In sports, having depth means that you have solid backups. We have depth at LB, DT, QB, and RB. We've seen that already with Klein and Love. That's not the case at WR.

The rest are role players, and plenty of them were not high draft picks or high priced free agents. Many of them also bounce around the league.

That means every team has a "53rd guy", though in all likelihood the worst you can rightly call Bersin will be the "45th guy" since odds are he's getting a jersey tomorrow.

Try looking that up. But then again, given that it's Football 101, the fact that I'm having to explain these things to you is kind of sad.

I'm guessing that's where you got your football knowledge (there or Madden). I got mine from over 40 years of playing, watching, studying and coaching.

Why in the in the world would a team promote a guy to the active roster, a process requiring them to cut another player, just to deactivate him?

which is exactly the issue i have. if Bersin gets a roster spot over two uninown commodities who may actually develop into contributors, then we're making a mistake.

 

it's possible that we deactivate joe webb but they give him a more prominent role on special teams every week and pulling him out of that only sews more turnover.
