Two experts pick against the Panthers

Normally, the Huddle would revel in the Panthers being seen as an underdog, making claims of how the team seems to do better when flying under the radar and what have you. But, going into the game on Sunday against a winless Saints team who seem to have players dropping left and right to injury (including their beloved quarterback and maybe a star receiver), Panthers fans the world over seem to have cast off their superstitions over being too boastful and are calling for a full scale bloodbath at the miserable New Orleans squad's expense. For my part, I have no doubt that one of the multiple embarrassments due to the Saints since they decided to use us to pad their record book many moons ago will be played out at B of A this weekend. And I'll be laughing all the live long day as it happens.

However, there are two people out there poised to appear as geniuses should the Panthers manage to beat themselves and allow the Saints to walk out of Charlotte with a win. The Panthers official website rounds up a collection of "expert" picks for the winners of each Panthers game from around the interwebs. I like going through them all, if for no reason other than hopefully the collective websites notice a small uptick in traffic when their story involves my favorite team. In going through this weeks collection of picks, it seemed as if every single person who's opinion was published was picking the Panthers to win, by anywhere from a 6 to 20 point margin. All but two. Let us now highlight these brave individuals, willing to stick their necks out because apparently the Saints were supposed to be good, the Panthers were supposed to be bad, and there's no way this is real life.

First, ESPN's Mike Golic stands out from the crowd by boldly predicting the Saints will triumph in the face of adversity. Next. someone named "Schalter" on Bleacher Report, who I could not be bothered to make any effort to find any information because it's fuging Bleacher Report, also declare that the Saints shall win. Outside of the Saints' moronic fanbase, these are the only living human beings that I can find relying on pre-determination and delusion when looking at this game.

This should be noted and admired. And laughed at.

Anyone that has listened to 10 seconds of Mike and Mike knows Golic is a fugging idiot.

Golic is known for going opposite whatever Greeny says and vice-versa. Not as bad as the guys on first take, but pretty close. 

You know "coach speak?" Yeah this is basically vanilla talk show rhetoric. So sick of ESPN I can't even take it anymore. Sure, I'm a homer at heart, but the media bias against most of my favorite teams here in the Carolinas is borderline downright hater-ade and its unbearable.  

Id rather just stay here on the Huddle and rewatch my teams play, sometimes that even gets annoying because of the mental-midget announcers I have to endure. So there goes the mute button and and I don't even get to hear the crowd's cheering.

      Man whether it's the Panthers or the Hornets it's crazy how many foolish talking heads there are in the local media. I just unsubscribed from locked on Hornets. Doug Branson with his cheesy mustache is an absolute clown especially when his partner isn't on. Talking about trading LaMelo because he can't win basketball games by himself with no semblance whatsoever of a legitimate Center. These YouTube personalities will say anything for a damn click.

      I’m hoping for that exact same scenario, two seconds would be big for us. I’d hope for 3 impact players. A WR/DL/DE that can contribute like this current class would be key to our rebuild.

      When I look at what I can find, a carryover problem from last season is our receivers are still unable to get enough separation on a consistent basis. Canales is certainly better at scheming them open, like how he sneaked out Thielen for a big play. But then he's also having Thielen running routes he frankly shouldn't be doing anymore. I feel part of the RZ issues is not really having anyone - after trading Diontae - who can make those quick cuts on a short field to give whoever is under center a wider window to throw. We also only have one guy with blazing speed in Thompkins and from what I could see, he's really used more to draw away coverage. I bring this all up because what Canales needs for sustained success - other than QB - is the other receiver pieces we'll be getting in the offseason.  Otherwise, I have to say that Canales isn't as afraid to be aggressive offensively. As others mentioned, still doesn't run the ball enough at times. Finally, I still feel his playcalls still doesn't line up with his mantra of getting rid of the ball within x amount of seconds. Maybe I count too slow. Oh, and I'm glad Canales first game after a bye looked good. I feared he'd be like Ron Rivera where we would fall flat on our faces.
