Dumping UVERSE for TWC

I had the same thing, too. I called ATT and they came out and ran a speed test it was down around 10-11 mbs I was paying for 18mbs. He said that the wireless signal was weak and temp. ran a eathernet cord between my Computer and the wireless modem? The speed jumped up to 25 mbs so I later ran the cord out of sight and it's stayed up at 24-25 mbs. No charge for visit or cord. But the monthly rate just jumped about $55.00 per month so I'm looking. This is a stupid game that the tv companies play offering cut rates for a year and then jumpig the monthly rates so high the second year. You would think that they would want to keep a customer for longer than a year or two before pissing them off.

No internet can compete with cable Internet speeds.

They have the monopoly.

I also will never get tv services from any cable prodvider.

Catch 22

that's been the case for a while but starting to pivot. You've got Google fiber, att gigapower, fios etc running fiber to the side of the house which will change things.

I have to wonder if it will matter if you plug it into a cheap home network?  One thing I have noticed is that my speed improves significantly when I move closer to my router.  If I use a wired connection, it more than doubles.  .

Uverse finally made it to my hood and i can get gigapower.  But i will stick with cable internet until fiber comes knocking.

Im liking Roku more and more and if i can increase some sports on there i may just keep net only.

I can even get Sunday ticket if i want.

It's your network at up that is going ti be the biggest problem. Walls are killer.

II have twc  and usually run 30-40 mpbs. But in my master bedroom, 20ish feet directionally and one floor up, I barely get anything. Can't stream a video. It's the walls!

So I'm going to pickup an extender this week to repeat the network upstairs.

I bought a network extender a few months ago.  It definitely helps although I have had some problems keeping it connected.  Have to reboot it a lot.

I'm hoping for some luck. It will be almost directly above the router (in a closet), and pretty clear lines to my bed room.

I wish home networking wasn't such a pain. If I build another house, I'm going to pull cable everywhere for everything.
