Brees: "Every intention of playing Sunday." Smokescreen or legit?

I say he sits, how you can go from "possibly missing a few games to on track to play just days later is beyond me. And even if he plays, why roll out a hobbled and hurt Brees against a top D like ours, but hey, have it your way Payton.

Oh and for some reason it's BBR links I can't paste on my phone for some reason, so that is my source btw..

They've said the decision to play is up to Brees.  He'll play.  If out of pride if nothing else.  He knows he's only got a few years left and this could be his last year in NO.  Sean Payton may want to leave after this year too so all caution will be thrown to the wind.

Starting 0-3 is a death blow to a team's playoff chances.  0-2 is bad enough.  They probably look at it as if they can't win on Sunday there is no future anyway this year so why not chance it...

If we can't beat the Saints even with a healthy Brees at home, it says a lot more about how far we can expect to go this season than it does the Saints...

The Saints are talent deficient at every position except QB (if Keenan Lewis returns healthy you may could include CB).  The Panthers have talent at every position except WR.

The Saints certainly aren't going to roll over but losing to them would throw this forum into a funk we haven't seen in 10+ months and would be the ammo the national media is looking for to start our 2015 obituary.

    • Soooo many bad turnovers again. Luckily Martin played well.
    • Yes. Cade 100% tripped and pitched it to Mafah.  That’s not in dispute.  We agree on that.  Mafah got the ball, fell to the ground and then attempted to complete the rest of the play….which was the lateral to the WR on the end around.  You are calling the lateral from Mafah to the end around WR the ball popping up.   It was whistled dead.   Then they ran another play.  the review then awarded the ball to SC after we ran another play for what happened after a play was whistled dead.   How does that part work lol?  How do you recover a ball if a play was whistled dead for a downed player prior to a recovery?  I think the refs screwed Clemson twice.   That’s not why they lost.  Please don’t think that is my argument.   They lost because Cade chocked and panicked at the end.  They lost because Sellers should have been put on the ground for a loss countless times and they didn’t.  They lost because our over loyal Dabo wouldn’t bench his favorite hurt RB.    Clemson lost for lots of reasons. SC deserved to win.  Those calls were bad though IMO.  They exist in every game.
    • I can’t recall an NBA team with this many injuries.  It’s getting absurd at this point
