Former Panthers Receiver Coach Passes Away

Those of us who've been around for a while remember Williamson well.

Williamson coached the Panthers receivers from 1995 up till his retirement in 2009.

He was the receiver coach for Steve Smith, Muhsin Muhammad and our current WR Coach, Ricky Proehl.

During his career, he was generally considered to be one of the best receiver coaches in the league.

Williamson played at the University of Alabama under Bear Bryant and with Joe Namath, and began his coaching career there.

Moose talked about him suffering a heart attack last week on Prime Time. You could tell the enormous respect Moose had for Coach Williamson and the impact he made on his life.   I was hoping he would pull through.  Condolences to his family and his Panthers family. Keep Pounding on the other side Coach.

Wow, what a guy. His coaching was instrumental in getting us into that Super Bowl and he may have very well coached up a Hall of Famer in Smitty.
