Confident with either Luke or Klein against the Saints.  But if Luke passes protocol, get him out there. 

Wouldn't be happy sitting him just to be safe.

IIRC, non-contact drills are part of the protocol he hadn't done yet. Since RR gave them Monday off and Tuesday is their off-day, this is the first day Luke's had a chance to do them this week

Klein is more than capable of taking the Saints on. Rather not rush Luke back.

While I agree in principle, I would be mad that he signed a big contract and then made that decision.

If he did make that decision he would forfeit the entire prorated portion of his signing bonus as well as all guarantees so really the contract part wouldn't matter at all unless a doctor deemed it career ending. If he did so on his own volition the Panthers would get the money back.

Participating in non-contact drills is a positive sign for Luke and means there is a good chance he can play Sunday and at the latest against Tampa Bay.

not sure if this is playing it safe...he seems to be hanging in protocol longer than the general norm.  Most guys are back this week

The way I saw it happen, it kinda looked more like a neck injury, rather than a concussion, maybe a pinched nerve or something. 

Im no doctor, just my observation and having had a similar incident.

I actually thought it was more of a stinger, or a spinal compression....something like that where it just stuns you and it's tough to move/breathe/etc...

Have had a few through the years, especially when running out to fish.

Non contact drills and hitting a tackling dummy? Sounds like he's close. Rivera said Luke didn't need practice. I'm not worried, besides, even if he is cleared I doubt they would even let him play the majority of snaps.

I won't complain if Luke and Star are out till the bye week if we get them for the rest of the season

yeah honestly I'm starting to worry a bit. But it may just be because he is the man with the big contract that they are giving him extra time. Dunno
