Need more weapons for Cam you say? Let's work out some DBs instead.

Why do people get so butthurt that we're not out there trying to throw contracts at Jarrett Boykin, Wes Welker, Hakeem Nicks, Denarius Moore, Donnie Avery, Reggie Wayne, Brad Smith, AJ Jenkins, Brandon Lloyd, Ryan Broyles, Jerrel Jernigan, Preston Parker, Tandon Doss, Santana Moss, Nick Toons, Greg Salas, Josh Morgan, and Robert Meachem?

Is there something that they know that the other 32 NFL teams don't?

you neglected to mention the oodles of other players that Huddlers over the past 6 months have rightfully felt would be helpful additions that bolster the receiving corp

that's why this argument is so popular-because of the convenience of it-it's 'ignorance is bliss' given internet form.

Make the argument that whomever Dave Gettleman has is the best there possibly is, employ the very liberal tendency of trying to discredit the arguee while ignoring the argument, and when the reality sets in, ignore the previous arguments made and prattle off a new list of names to accomodate the illusion.

for future referencing, is it willful ignorance or something people here actually buy into?

I'm not exactly thrilled with the WR situation either, but I think you get yourself wayyyyy too worked up about this.

I mean, you're going to from Dave Gettleman, to ranting about liberal tendency? Yeesh.

Like I stated before. If Cam gets a weapon, it will take a trade. Which is something we aren't used to seeing from DG. He's already done one trade and its too early to tell if this person will be able to contribute. If there is another trade, said weapon would have to learn the offense quickly. Norwood has learned somewhat quickly but it isn't typical of wide receivers to learn the whole playbook that fast. They would also have to learn all the verbiage that the team has, the language in essence.

All of these things take time. Other variable would be the reason to trade for that person. Does he fit this system we run? What attributes does he have and what can they bring to the table? Are these attributes what the organization looks for in a wide out? Right now the M.O. for a wide out, before injury, is that you have to either be huge and physical with a great catch radius, be able to fight for the ball and high point it. Or be a speedster, with great route running skills, return ability optional.

As of now, Ted Ginn and Philly Brown fit the second mold. First one would be KB (injured), Funchess, and newly acquired Norwood. The loss of KB is huge, but life goes on. I believe it's rare to see a player traded for and pay dividends immediately.

Honestly, I don't see another trade coming or someone being picked up. If anything Bersin will be brought up, which isn't a bad thing. He knows the system, has sure hands and is reliable. He's very underrated. I'm not saying he's going to come and save us, but he adds another element for Cam to spread that ball to.

I'm hoping we see a trade later on in the season when a few teams start falling out of the race. I think that Klein + 4th round pick would be worth a solid #2 receiver. Getting a #2 this year would make our receiving group next year one of the best we've ever had.

Yea, they know Ginn isn't their #1 WR

how bout if you guys just assume gettlemen knows much more than you do about what the needs of this team are.  If the huddle built the team, we would have 37 wrs.  The man is doing his job.

One of my favorite things about the Huddle podcast last night was hearing Brandon Wegher talk about the involvement of Dave Gettleman and Ron Rivera with the team.  He talked about G'man eating lunch with the guys, being very involved, really knowing the team.

Just another reason to love our GM, but it really sounds like he's INVOLVED with the team, has his finger on the pulse.  It's not just a job.  I certainly trust him to know the needs and be able to realistically assess what he's got on the field, not just on paper.  Awesome.
