Legs talk about AJ Kleins future

Facts:

He could start at MLB on over half the teams in the league.

He is a playmaker, with a very high football IQ.

He is currently under contract through 2016 (I am pretty sure this is correct).

We are loaded at LBers.

So if you are GM (which I know you all are), what do you do with him?  Give him a new deal?  Trade?  Let him walk?

As I said in the All Pro section.

The smart thing to do is let him play out this year, and see if you can trade him this offseason, if Mayo shows promise.  If Mayo doesn't, keep AJ and let him play out his final year.  He will sign a decent contract as a starter, and we will get a comp pick for him.

IMO he is a natural ILB, not an OLB.

He was a starter at Iowa State at MLB for a reason.

Remember when our WR looked good and we were going to "let go of good players for the first time ever!" That was a month ago.

We're loaded at LB because we have AJ Klein. Keep him as a future OLB that can slide in at MLB when needed.

If someone wants to give him starting MLB money which I imagine some team will then we can't match that and we have to let him go. He's great and I love having him on the team but that's just a reality of the business. He deserves to play and get paid. We can't offer that. The only thing to do is just be happy for him.
