Could the Panthers Possibly Run the Table?

Bump it.  I'm jumping the gun here, but in all reality when I look at our defense with it's ability to get multiple turnovers a game and all the problems going on with our opponents, I'm starting to think we can go 16-0.  The Saints are on a downward spiral, the Bucs are playing a rookie QB (and they are simply not good), the Seahawks have mutiny within their ranks, and the Giants are struggling internally as well.  Right now I see our toughest opponents will be the Packers and perhaps the Falcons, yet we will beat them so really only the Packers.  Here is the rest of our schedule....

My assessment is we beat the Saints, Bucs (each both times), and the Falcons two times without much trouble.  The Falcons' only threat is their passing game, which we've been shown to shut down pretty consistently.  I can't remember the last time Matty "Vanilla" Ice was able to put up big numbers against us, especially since Norman has been our starter.  We are only ten times better in the secondary than last year.  Without a passing game, Atlanta doesn't stand a chance and the battle for I-95 will continue to be ours.  Next you have the Seahawks.  We have never beaten the Seahawks with Russell Wilson at QB, but most of the games have been close.  You could say we should have won a couple had it not been for some slip ups.  Well, now the Seahawks are in disarray.  Kam Chancellor is sitting out, and their power back Marshawn Lynch is on cruise control...

 

 

 

 

 

...I believe we go up to Seattle off a bye, and take care of business.  Who knows, by then perhaps Funchess will be our full time starter, and he light things up on the leaderless LOB.  So, what about Andrew Luck and the Supreme Colts?  We all know Mr. Luck is a turnover machine in Peyton Manning clothing.  Now I wouldn't sleep on TY Hilton.  If he's healthy, he can take the lid off of any defense.  They also have other young receivers that could cause trouble, but ultimately they have two old vets they depend on who I believe are running on fumes.  They are Andre Johnson and Frank Gore.  I believe we can take care of them without any problems.  With the offense taken care of, the Colts defense is straight pathetic.  In all honesty, I can't really name you anyone on that squad other than Robert Mathis, if he's still playing.

 

Finally that leaves us with our biggest challenge, Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.  Man, the way Rodgers fling that ball like it's nothing and still have pinpoint accuracy is unbelievable.  Things are easier with not having to deal with Jordy Nelson, but in reality, no things are not easier.  Number 12  could pick me up and have me running routes and catching touchdowns like Randy Moss.  Assuming Randall Cobb is healthy, along with James Jones and crew, things just won't be easy.  Now we do play them at home, and that goes in our favor.  Last time Cam played them here, we were dominating the first quarter and went into halftime with a lead.  Another thing going for us is that we play them later on, hopefully having everyone healthy.  In the end, if we can win that game, I see us having a good chance at going 16-0.  What say you?

Of course this is more circumstantial than how good we are right now.  I believe our receiving will improve bit by bit, and that is really the main thing holding us back.

We still haven't had Star in either. We played 2 AFC South opponents though, I think we sweep this division, Luck gets to play those ass teams twice a year

Ok, whenever it comes to these win/loss predictions, first things first, let's establish what our worst case scenario is aka what our "floor" is..

Saints and Bucs are Ws so that's 4 wins. Redskins and Titans I also put in the "guaranteed win column" so there is 6 wins. 

So 6 wins is our floor, there is just no way we lose more than 10 wins, so 6 wins you can take to the bank. 

Now let's move from the guaranteed wins to the VERY likely wins. Those are Bucs once again and another Saints win and a split with the Falcons..

Thats 3 wins right there that I feel 90% certain we win which already puts at 9-7. 

Who do we have left?! Well I feel good about the Giants, you know what, yea on 2nd thought let's put the Giants in that "Very likely" win column, boom we are 10-6 right there. 

Now the toss ups. Philly, Atlanta, Cowboys.. Hmm, being VERY conservative here let's say we beat Philly and lose to the Cowboys and Atlanta. You have 11 wins.

Now the "Not likely" wins column.. Colts, Packers and Seahawks.. I have us 0-3 here.. So 11-5, there you have it

I see our only major problem is with our receivers.  Any other problem we have, we got the players and the talent to render them close to obsolete.  I would say our biggest problem going into training camp was Oher's play at LT.  Would he be able to be a difference maker and protect Cam?  So far he has been very serviceable.  We also were able to block JJ Watt well enough yesterday, and I consider him the toughest pass rusher we will face this year.  Another problem we might have is the running game, but I don't see it as a big deal at all.  Stew will get the yards he need to get, with the likely possibility of having great games.  Once CAP jump Fozzy on the depth chart, we should be straight there.

 

Again, our wideouts are our biggest concern, and I believe once Funchess get his feet under him, that will become less of a problem.  Every other team have real problems.  The Seahawks are revolting against their coach, Drew Brees is hurt and going downhill, the Colts defense suck, the Eagles' Chip Kelly is a mad scientist, etc.
