What if the Panthers had drafted Andrew Luck?

The hump of getting to the playoffs with a turnstile offensive line and 4th string wide receivers. Luck can run, but Cam applies another dimension to the game.

I don't really bother much to get into what if's, it's all useless speculation obviously, but the dimension that Newton brings to our run game is not replaceable by any other QB in the league IMO. It's getting noticed more now, but if you take his key scrambles for first downs, and rushing touchdowns these last 4 years off the table, how many wins do you think this team would have? All I know is, we should be very grateful to have Newton. You look around the league at teams that are struggling to find their QB for the future, and it is clearly not pretty.

Holy hell at this comment...  and here I thought Indy has been surrounding Luck with weapons, since he stepped through the door.  Some people on the Huddle lied to me!

I agree to a point.  However, until Luck actually has an offensive line who can block, wide receivers who can get separation, and running backs who can run and hold up I will withhold judgment of Luck.  People talk about Luck staring down receivers.  You have to when you have no time to throw and receivers not getting open on a consistent basis.

If we passed on a man that steamrolled the SEC singlehandedly (AU's offense was trash) like no other player has ever done and won a BCS title & Heisman....

Auburn's offense was far from trash in 2010.

Four out of five of the OL were seniors (the starting RT was a junior).  The starting LT (Ziemba who had a drink of water here in Carolina) won the Best OL award in the SEC that year.

Starting RB Michael Dyer was a 1000 yard rusher as a freshman.  Backup RB Onterrio McCalleb had over 800 yards rushing.

Darvin Adams (who also had a drink of water here in Carolina) had almost 1000 yards receiving (and, unlike present day Panther's WRs, he had hands like glue).

Cam Newton was the straw that most certainly stirred that Auburn drink without a doubt.  But the AU offense was trash?  You're very wrong about that.
