Where was the RIOT?

Whoever said it was 86 degrees is flat wrong.  It was hotter than two rats fuging in a wool sock.

My Otter Box holster got too hot to touch, no poo.

At one point I started hallucinating and thought I saw Cam cut a flip into the end-zone and get this...Philly Brown caught a touchdown.  God I was so fuged up.

The NFL really needs to look into starting our September home games at 4:00 like they do the Florida teams.

A 1:00 September Sunday like yesterday can often feel like a mid july afternoon.

We played in Jacksonville last week at 1.

After reading all the comments I feel better about the showing Sunday.  I stayed in the stands for the whole game, but my wife really wanted us to go inside to the concourse when we were up 24-10. The amount of empty seats in the club level was an embarrassment- no way to sugar coat that.  But for the most part, the crowd did pretty good considering the brutal heat.  There was still a lot of noise on defense for the final Texans drive, and you got to give the fans credit for that after a 3:39 hour game with the heat index well in the 90's.

I've been to probably 60% of the home games over the last 10 years, and the crowds have definitely gotten better as we have grown as a franchise.  The "Keep"... "Pounding" chant is a solid addition.  Also, I'm not going to knock anyone for not having the resources to go to the games, b/c even though the Panthers are not expensive by NFL standards, it still is a $200+ dollar outing for 2 tix, parking, concessions, etc. on the very low end.  That is not an inexpensive outing for most people.  That being said, and even though I wish it were different, the games are sold out (which is a great thing for the fanbase as a whole) b/c someone has purchased those tickets, and those people have the right to not show up, leave early, etc.

The Panthers have started a siren alerting people when it's an hour before, and then 30 mins before the game starts to try to encourage people in their seats sooner.  The truth is that a lot of people who can afford to go to games care more about the tailgating and social aspect of the game versus the actual game on the field.  And the evolution of the TV watching experience (HD, pylon cams, etc) plus the explosion of fantasy football (while good for the NFL overall), are not helping put butts in (and more importantly keep butts in) the seats as Vince McMahon would say.  It is not just a Panthers issue by any stretch.

I was in San Francisco for a week last year in early October and the 49ers had a home game that weekend.  It was like 80 degrees and no one showed up to the game. I looked for the article and could only find this one from a preseason game a few weeks prior...
