He did a good job of playing it safe. The one INT was entirely the receivers fault. No dumb passes that hurt the team or put the opponent in scoring position.

Cam hasn't been spectacular but he's been playing winning football so far, just like he did at the end of last season.

Next two games will say a lot about Cam and the 2015-2016 Panthers. 4-0 will put us in great position for a third straight division title and a third straight playoff appearance. Make it happen, Cam.

I see things a little differently. Cam had some nice runs and the 2 TD passes were excellent, but he also missed a lot of throws and was lucky not to throw about 3 picks. Also, a 6'5" QB shouldn't be getting so many passes tipped at the LOS, IMO.

If I was him, I wouldn't be anywhere near satisfied with my performance.

Have to say I agree.  I actually think he was better early last season.  I thought the fact that he couldn't run because of the rib injury,  he was really passing well. I also thought he was lucky not to throw more interceptions yesterday and he missed a wide open WR late yesterday that could have iced the game,  on the play where he missed Olsen deep.

The Texans seemed to forget Cam can run the way their line sold out on Stewart in the read option and their ends lost contain over and over again.I still  want to see better awareness from Cam in the pocket, he just refused to step up to avoid some of those hits he took while throwing. He still seems to only have two modes in the pocket, statue and scramble.

We need to go ahead and let him run somewhere in the first few plays.  He always seems to play better after that first hit and that was certainly the case yesterday.  He was off those first two drives but once he had that nice little run for a first down he settled down and was solid the rest of the game.

I think people are forgetting what actually happened those first two possessions. Dropped passes, tipped balls.

Cam played great. And we won. He needs to tighten things up but it's the second game of the year. Let's hope his arrow keeps pointing up all season because honestly this team is going to go how he goes because of the lack of talent on O.

i wanted to mention again how truly great that td throw was to ginn on the stop and go. Unbelievable touch and anticipation. Cam lobbed it up as ginn was at a full stop before the go. If cam continues to make throws like that we will be ok (and obviously if the wrs catch the ball!)

Definitely can't be satisfied with anything short of sheer domination in the NFL (400+ yards of offense, no turnovers), otherwise there's no reason to go to work, so I agree. But that wasn't the point I'm trying to make. The Texans defense isn't necessarily dominant, but it's very unique and difficult to shut down (I compare them to Miami - beatable, but stingy and tough). Cam beat them the only way you can - take what they give you, be smart, don't force anything and make the play that's there to make. It's a very, very good feeling to know that our guy is doing that right now.

Considering Watt has made a career out of being Watt the Swat and Clowney is a Peppers-like specimen, you're not going to see any other team in the league swat his passes like that.

What a glorious day it will be when we are able to witness our team win a tough football game, and we don't see some "fan" who just "keeps it real" chiming in with a remark like "well Cam may have had 271 total yards, 3 touchdowns, and lead our team in rushing for the game, buuuuuuut.........".

The most impressive thing to me was if you look at the runs he had, I'd guess only about 30% of them did he take a direct hit.  The problem with running QB's in the past has been taking the punishment, but if he is sliding or running out of bounds, and he only really gets hit only 30-35% of his runs (especially with his size) I don't see how it's gonna really affect him until much later in his career.

I agree with you although I would say that the problem with running qb's in the past has been that they haven't been very good passers.  Cam has improved his skills in that regard over the last few seasons.

All of this is what makes that end zone dive breathtaking in both it's magnificence and it's danger. He has the size to run up the middle. But this whole airborne with absolutely no idea which end is going to come down first needs to be relegated to the running backs.

well according to one naive young fan, Cam is just a running back and should be benched....

speaking of this. i was sitting near some dude that, for half the game, was calling for Cam to be benched in favor of Derek Anderson because "he isnt accurate". i eventually got tired of it and challenged him. in the midst of our argument, Cam threw his perfectly placed touchdown lob to Philly Brown. i just looked over at him like this: Leonardo-Dicaprio-Cheers.thumb.jpg.38cec

There's a difference between a running QB, and a QB that can run.  Cam is the latter.
