Matt Ryan was getting blown up by our front.  Team sport.   Pass rush was crazy, especially the 2nd meeting.   How you gonna throw when the pass rush blow up plays?  Atl OL was a joke last year....and our front got things cracked up at the end of the year (just in time to dominate them) and go on our run.

Like I said, I got no beef keeping him.  I want to keep him....but only at a reasonable price.  He ain't got the work in to get big time money or a tag.

Now, could he have the resume by the end of the year?  Sure.

I know it's a team sport but thanks for reiterating that.

He needs to stay here.  If it ends up being a situation where we can't afford to pay him what he wants, then obviously other avenues need to be explored.  At no point did I say give the guy a blank check.  He needs to be here though within reason.  If he walks due to money reasons then we'll just have to deal with it as it comes.  That's common sense.

I never once have said we shouldn't keep him....said we shouldn't at the numbers people here suggest claiming him elite and worthy of THAT cash.

Listen to Rivera today.  Asked about Stewart...says Stewart ran as hard as you could ask.  Goes on to OL.   Asked about Norman says he played well....then talks about  his blown coverages (those don't show up on stat sheets and PFF grades) and made a point to mention Norman didn't upset his stomach like he is known to do.

The point of that....is don't think our FO/staff thinks elite CB and therefore that offer isn't likely to come.  I think they see great physical talent and energy they have to work hard with and help succeed. I think they would like to keep him though.  I think they like the direction they have him trending (I do too).

He also said.  "We put him on their best guy and he did a heck of a job"  Two sides to a coin but at the end of the day I don't know what they're thinking so I guess we'll see.  Just hope he keeps playing well.

I'll never trust a word of what Rivera has said about our own guys.  I'm pretty sure he switches to Bizarro speak every time he's asked a question about a Panther.  Byron Bell?  He did a real nice job.  Frank Alexander?  Training camp MVP.  Armanti Edwards?  Training camp MVP.  Josh Norman?  Oh he's not as good as everyone thinks.  He did a nice job (notice the parallel between how he describes Bell and Norman....).  Rivera's "doghouse" aka personal bias is obvious and strong.

If Norman keeps this level of play up, he will be tagged. Then by the time that's over, he will be 30 and viewed as a 3rd round comp pick or 3yr contract player. Plus it would give the staff one extra year to find a replacement.

Remmers deserves one of these threads too.

Even with Williams waiting in the wings, remmers saved the online lasted year and keeps showing he belongs in the lineup. Plus he can play C/LT/RT and given some practice OG too.

I feel that this upcoming offseason will be the year we say by to Kalil, Johnson, Stewart and hello to KK, Star and Norman

Would not shock me in the least bit to see kalil go.  I love the guy but his hurney contract has to go.  Even if he was the undisputed best center in the league he'd be overpaid.

Johnson will likely stay another year or get extended due to the state of our pass rush.  No it's not awful, but I'd imagine Ron's ideal defense looks alot like 2013 with two animal DEs.
