Cam is this generations Brett Favre

I think this especially when the "receivers" drop Cam's "too hard" throws. Only difference is Favre was celebrated for having a rocket arm and the narrative on Cam is he needs to develop some"touch" on his passes.

They said the exact same thing about Elway. Honestly though, Cam is not as accurate as Elway. He can be, but he's not there yet. It's just a damn shame that Cam didn't get 2-3 years in a pro style offense in college like those guys did.

Actually, people said that about Favre too.

He was also heavily criticized for often having too much confidence in his arm and making a lot of bad decisions because of it.

WRs just have to adjust...

and if Julio Jones started trying to body catch some of Ryan's balls he would start dropping some.  That simply isn't how you catch.  Can't forget...we don't actually start WRs that should start.

Ginn didn't need to body catch that one....the one last week was a floater.

I guess this is the best place to pose this question. For me watching this game, we lose this game without Cam. His passes and runs were what won us the game. But...

For so many of the posts on FB and some other "fans" I talk to, they just constantly rag on him and point to his completion percentage and how many "bad throws" he had.

I felt that his struggles early in the game were due to the pressure and then the oline and Cam settled down. No matter what he does there are going to be fans that hate him.

My question is why? (Also please don't bring up race as why. These same ppl love Russell Wilson and would love him as our QB)

It started with the Auburn scandal then carried over to the league with his eccentric style of play.

The media is full of sportswriters from a generation where football was rough and tumble and if you didn't leave exhausted and with fifty broken bones you were a weakling, football is a war, etc.

Cam has bucked that trend by openly showcasing his happy personality since he came into the league and the media hasn't gotten over it.

Also, it's hard to believe now, but Cam was not considered an elite prospect out of Auburn, and many predicted he would fail or at least not perform at the level we've seen him perform. I suspect most would rather discredit or ignore what he is doing rather than eat crow.
