Who Has the Advantage - Texans Edition

Position group break down again, who is better at each group?

QB - Panthers - not even close

RB - Panthers

OL - Panther, especially with their LT out

WR - Texans with KB sidelined

TE - Panthers

 

DL - Push, IMO Panther have the better group, but Watt is the equalizer here.

LB - Panthers, even without Luke

CB - Push, both have young and promising CB's

S - Push

 

ST - Push

Coaching - Panthers, despite Shula

 

How would you break it down?

I agree with JOAT 100% in his break down. 

 

Only thing left out is special teams. 

Knowing what injuries does to special teams, I'll give the nod here to the Panthers.

I think we have to concede DL to the Texans. There won't be many times this year where that is the case, but with the Texans, their DL is better than ours.

I was tempted to proclaim the same, but I think we're more talented overall and deeper.

Watt is a freak, but Wilfork is old, though still formidable and Clowney is nothing but hype to date in the NFL. CJ, Star and KK are all established guys, RDE is the only real unknown. 

I think we have the edge overall, but Watt keeps it a push.

I don't know if a positional comparison like that is always fair..for example...

Take an average 4-3 vs an average 3-4 defense.  The 3-4 has proven to provide us with a greater challenge.  So a 3-4 scheme alone is an issue.

Then you have to look at this specific 3-4's front.....and out of 3-4 fronts this is one of the better ones.  

I still ill think this will be the toughest game on our schedule for our OL.  So this is the best 3-4 front 7 we will see.

They seem confident that our corners aren't very good. Going to love to see how they feel about that tomorrow when Norman, Peanut and Bene shut them down. Norman owns Julio, he can handle Hopkins easy.
