Wow, looks like Stewart will be playing after all. I wonder why they went through all the drama with him in the preseason even bringing in Sutton if they knew this all along.

it wasn't carolina that caused the drama.

maybe...just maybe, hurney was telling the truth about picking up sutton having nothing to do with stewart.

and maybe....just maybe, fox was telling the truth when he discussed doing whatever it took to make sure stewart was ready for the season.

even if it meant missing most of the offseason.

Typical foxy. And as far as Sutton I think he is merely a talented player that they liked. I watched him for a few plays on an NFLN reair preseason game and he was pretty impressive against the backups. In fact, the announcers were in love with him and one said that he has a chance to be a star for the packers (that was before he was cut). I think Fox and Hurney don't want to get into another injury situation at the most important position for this offense as well as the possibility of him returning kicks.

I meant with Stewart and everyone else acting very coy about whether he was going to play until, well, today. If this was an elaborate smokescreen towards the Eagles, I don't see the logic in it since they'll still have five days to prepare once they learn today that it looks very likely that Stewart will play.

good points...the panic and drama came about because of some people's reaction to the lack of information and their being vague about things.
