FBGPs NFL Gameplan Week 2 Panthers/Texans Preview

One big flaw with that play you drew up... you completely forgot about out other LBer, Thomas Davis or "this guy" as stated in the video, as if he's just going to be standing around with his thumb up his butt watching the play unfold and just assume since Luke has to pick then someone is going to be open.  Thomas Davis is just as good in coverage as Luke is.

That "high-low" game plan is just absurdly bad.  Do you really think the strong side backer is just going to sit on the line as the slot receiver streaks down the seam?  No, he's going to fold back into his zone, hence picking up the TE that you have going "high".  The weak side backer is going to come down and jam the back coming off the line that's going "low" and either hand him off to Luke, or he'll stay with him.  Either way, there are no open receivers on this play and most likely, one of the middle receivers will be doubled with this coverage.

The Broncos/Chiefs graphic slipped by the edit room but it happens. Bigger issue is Chris James starting the Houston D/ST over the Panthers D/ST. Emory, didn't you send him the memo about the Panthers looking sound at all 3 levels of D, how in football math having 2 QBs = not having 1, and how the numbers for WR Hopkins and Washington came against prevent D? Plus Chris then picking Cam for a QB start is just contradictory to picking Houston's D/ST. Thinking Houston is gonna put up 27 on a top 10 D with "Who?" at QB smh

But thank you Emory for sharing those insights here

Thanks Gang! We're trying to play around with different formats to like Top Dawg says to add more spice.

I forgot, no yards can and will be given up on the Panthers defense...all passing windows --- especially ones dealing with crossers that are designed to flash, stop, and/or sit in any passing window -- will all be sheet rocked off because it never happens.

Yo how'd that prediction work out for you last week?

You should switch that part up.

My bad 16-0! Does that work for you? It's a prediction, not a verdict. I'm more concerned with the analysis than the outcome..but for you, the Panthers will win every week.

Don't get irritated.  People are salty cause you picked us to go 0-2 (IDK your Week 3 prediction).  First quarter of the season is always difficult to predict.  I think, as we win, people will start agreeing with your analysis and pro-panthers predictions.  ;)

I thought picking the Jags was a big mistake. I pointed out that their offense was young and would make big mistakes against our very good veteran defense. I was upset at the time because nothing in the video convinced me that we were going to lose to the inferior Jags. Sure enough we won. We were the better team.

    • He's turned into quite a gunslinger
    • Hey guys, remember when we won those meaningless games in 2010 and it cost us the #1 pick and the chance to draft Cam? Oh.... right I get that's more of an extreme example because it got us a HOF caliber QB.  But it's the general concept, you want to win late season games when you have the pieces in place to make a run the next season, we currently are not in that place. Herbert and Sewell are the ones I point to so much, because we literally lost out on 2 franchise different makers by 1 draft slot.  Give us those two players while we still have CMC, Moore, and the rest of the picks we gave up for Bryce, and we'd have been a legit playoff contender the last few years. Draft position matters in the NFL more than any other sport (other than the #1 pick in the NBA in a year with a generational talent).
    • It’s so crazy. If we had a shot for pick 1 and there was some generational player there then yeah maybe I could get behind the draft position argument. I’d say most GMs and coaches aren’t diving into the draft right now. They are trying to win games.
