10.7 Mill under the cap after Luke deal

hardy was just quirky at first. I'm not leveling accusations I'm just saying I don't feeling nearly as secure as the team investing millions of dollars in him contrasted to Luke/Newton.

Hardy had some off the field problems before the incident with the woman.  Relatively minor stuff (such as the motorcycle wreck) but still cause for some mild concern.  To my knowledge, Norman hasn't had any off the field problems.  Fwiw, I feel fairly secure in putting more money in his pockets, well as secure as one can be in this day and age anyway.  The only question is will the team be willing to pay what he thinks he is worth?

Obviously that's 3 million we could have thrown at a washed up vet WR who doesn't know our offense, and who doesn't want to play for us to begin with.

That's a hell of a strawman argument you got there. Show me one person who suggested holding off on a Luke extension so we can sign a WR.

People want some of that $10.7M in cap room we have used on a WR. Trying to tie that into Luke's extension is ridiculous and you know it.

Indeed, the one who just had 80 yards and a TD.   But not specifically him, some other vet receiver with a bit of proven history would have been nice.

Which vet receivers currently not under contract would you recommend?  Hakeem Nicks who can't seem to find a job with anyone?  Or Denarius Moore who can't seem to find a job with anyone?

You're missing the point.  This should have been a need filled in the offseason, even with goals of drafting a WR.    There were plenty of options we didn't explore.  This team had TWO glaring holes last season, speed at the WR position and LT.   There wasn't much out there for LT but there was some receivers.   We rolled the dice and stayed cheap and it didn't work.

Since the money can be rolled over to next year, its much more valuable being used to re-sign some other key contributors on this team (KK, Norman, Star) than used to sign a pedestrian veteran receiver who is struggling to find a job with ANYBODY in this league.

You do realize that money doesn't just roll off into JR's pocket, right?

Whether that is your intention or not, that is what you did and how you come off. Comparing Norman (who, by all accounts, is a very nice guy) to someone like Hardy who threw his GF on a pile of guns is both unfair and wrong. You are just finding things to dislike about our best DB in years. It's ridiculous and borderline witch hunting.
