Stack The Box and Roll Coverage To Greg Olsen.. Because They have No Receivers

I foresee more two TE sets this game and a lot of running back checkdowns due to pressure.  Gotta get yards--just get yards.  Cam is learning that.  And yes, he did spread it around to NINE (9) guys. It may take 8 of them to match KB, but if that's what it takes, then that's what it takes.  Throw in Olsen, and we still have essentially a two receiving threats.

People have been saying this since Shula took over. Instead we get Olsen blocking for passing plays.

I'd prefer 4-0.  But all of a sudden, Seattle and indy don't seem as scary. But I know not to overreact to week 1

I got us going:

W, L, W, W into the bye.  Which will be good.  I expect slow improvement as the year goes on...which we need.

"Oh CRA hates us...he just predicted the best start ever under Ron".

well it is no secret I prefer to talk about the concerns....more interesting to me

I mean how many times can we say Luke is awesome?  Been there, done that and bought the jersey.

I got us 3-1 heading into the bye....is that super negative? I don't think so.  But unless you have us 4-0 then there have to be some losing matchups

You're a very negative and pessimistic person and you give me bad vibes and I don't like it. My least favorite kind of person

Over in the Week 1 Stats & Analysis thread, I just posted a tally of all the passing attempts in the game in case people are interested in looking at it.  It's raw data.  I've not done any analysis.  Need to call it a night.

Seems like a pretty solid plan.

maybe a WR does the unthinkable and catches a ball.....maybe Newton sits back way too long in the pocket and arguably the best front we see all year feasts on that bc that is exactly what they want to play out

Let's be real....we are mocking them and our counter is essentially go ahead Philly Brown gonna get you?

Arguably the best front four we will see all year????  Are you from Houston??  Watt was the only one who got a sack all game. They had 2 sacks and gave up 3.  We had 5 sacks and gave up 2.  Our front four is better than theirs and that is without Star.

what defensive front is better we will face this year?   Not sure why you back that up talking about us?

sack numbers also don't tell a full story anyway....lot of that has to do with offensive schemes, who the QB is, the rest of the team, etc.

What opponent has better talent upfront than Watt, Wilfork, Clowney, Cushing etc?

Well Cushing is a LB but I agree with you. We won't face a tougher front 4. Does that rookie start? Well now that I think about it, I hope Hardy doesn't channel his inner Smitty on turkey day. But overall yes Houston all the way.

Clowney is a LB too.  Defensive front is your 7 or that is what I was referring too when I stated defensive front.

if they aren't the best front I would assume 55 is gonna argue Seattle?  But I don't but there front being better as the back end has always generated a lot for them.  Maybe Tampa?  I don't know....thought HOU being toughest upfront was a given.  Obvously not.

Didn't realize they list Clowney as a LB. I wouldn't say Seattle as I agree that it their back 7 that is the strength, improving the front 4. LBs are always used interchangeably but since Houston runs a 3-4 I should've realized front 7 is what you were saying.

so anything other than homerism is depressing?

Texans have some nice match ups.  That is just football.   People take great issue with those things or discussing our team in any way but sunshine and cotton candy dreams.

I think we can win.   Just in a different manner than some think we do.

I am what I am at this point.  As one of Cam's biggest supporters since before it was cool....one day I will eventually want him cut and it will probably before most are ready.  So I guess that should give everyone plenty of warning

Good thing your just a fan because that would probably be the biggest mistake by any GM. Panthers probably will never have the chance to draft two studs like Cam and Luke back to back.
