Norwood and Funch need to be a quick study

Not going to lie I'm getting a little nervous about Funch. I know he missed a lot of reps in the preseason, but I really expected more than this. GMan had him as a first round talent and we made a pretty big trade up to draft him and he can't even displace Corey Brown and Ted Ginn?

Can you please just shut the front door about James Jones already? I mean jesus christ. The dude was in Green Bay for YEARS working with the BEST QB IN THE NFL who is familiar with him and has an established relationship with.  It makes sense that he was able to come in and produce in an offense that he was FAMILIAR with that required a refresher. We traded for Norwood a few weeks ago and he's still trying to get up to speed with our offense.

Also they have an offensive coordinator who isn't a fuging doorknob.

...I guess we'll have to keep saying it...last year was very special/abnormal as it pertains to WR success. It usually takes a few years before WRs come into their own. Look at Allen Robinson yesterday in his second year looking like crap still... 1 for 27 for a 2nd round pick in his second year.

It takes some time for even the best of them sometimes...you'll not see last years success from the rookie WR class maybe in the rest of our lifetime.

I called in November of last year we would reunite with Ginn this year

Here's my new bold prediction: LaFell is going to get cut in New England during the season and we're going to bring him back.

Donald "Oh wee mayne" LaFell makes his glorious return home

LaFell is currently on the PUP and not even eligible to return to the Patriots until Week 8.  He's not coming to Carolina.

And? Without KB we have the worst receiving corps in the league and the receiver we drafted barely even got on the field so obviously he hasn't been showing the coaches much in practice. Multiple guys that report on the team have said Funch and Cam just can't seem to get on the same page. Not ready to declare him a bust by any means I'm just saying it's alarming.

It's only alarming because of your expectations...if you aren't expecting him to break out until 2 more years it's not alarming at all.

this is honestly a myth that people here keep perpetuating.

College offenses are producing better players across the board and wide receivers are comimg into the league as better and more polished players than they used to. Amari cooper runs better routes than a lot of longtime NFL players.

Last year's class was special in terms of talent. Their success was a result of that-not some magical wave of awesomeness descending from the skies and making them play good when they arent 'supposed' to.

So say it as many times as you like, but youll only be leading people astray from the truth. Young players dont need years or even months to make an impact anymore, and it isnt a special or rare occasion when it does happen. It's the expected standard.
