Take away the sideline throw at the end of the half he missed every throw over 15 yards in the air by a mile. So I guess one could say they beat themselves as they would be in it if all those was completed. 

Or in other words "we lost because i am not good enough" as nothing indicated he will be an accurate deap thrower anytime soon/ever.

Didn't our 1st two trips to the red zone get us a total of 3 points? If we'd played like we should have, against a low caliber opponent, that "beating ourselves" excuse would have been total BS.

I don't know what game you guys watched/Bortles watched. If I hadn't watched it I would have thought Jacksonville wiped the floor with us but was hampered by a few horrible plays. 

 

In reality we dominated them for 85% of them game and actually shot ourselves in the foot (i.e. dropping a wide open touchdown pass), getting a few pretty terrible penalties against (Olsen td, teddy williams block in the back) and a legitimately terrible spot on third and fourth down. 

 

Those things go our way and Luke doesn't get hurt on that last drive and we might have won 30+ to 3.

Both teams were beating themselves all day, just the Jags did a better job than the Panthers.  Sad to say

Agreed. Both teams had costly drops/penalties/bad passes/missed opportunities. Jags just had more actual turnovers, which led to Panthers' points.
