Who Needs To Step Up Next Week

And there were A LOT of individuals making mistakes.  Not just a few.  They all need to step it up.

Was the first game of the season.  Mistakes will happen people will improve.

A win is a win, but this felt bittersweet. While watching this game, several players caught my eye. This isn't for good plays, but repeatedly messing up. 

1. Roman Harper- this guy was out of position and burnt for most of the day. I'm not sure why he is even on the roster. 

2. Shaq Thompson- I can blame this on being a rookie, but it's obvious the coaches need to work with him. He wasn't ready for this game. He didn't know his assignment, missed several tackles, and took horrible angles. The guy needs to pay more aggressive. 

3. Tedd Ginn- This game should have been a blowout. For all of the flack that Brown gets, Ginn has been just as bad at dropping catchable balls. 

(Shout out to Coleman on his 500 missed tackles today. )

Harper did not get burned. He had his responsibility deep over the top. The man who was burned was Josh Norman. He was not even near his responsible area after biting on the pump fakes. The Jaguars were targeting Norman's zones when they started moving the ball through the air because Norman was over aggressive and undisciplined.

As for others:

Kony Ealy spent too much time on his back. I think he was eventually pulled from the game in favor of Addison.

Kurt Coleman was always a step late and took horrible angles.

Dwan Edwards and Kyle Love looked awful and out of shape. They were dragging quite a bit and had no pursuit down the line as they appeared to be speed walking.

The pass rush was inconsistent (horrible outside of CJ, Addison, and Short).

The receivers are truly horrible. There is no doubt this team will struggle all season keeping up with teams that can pass on the Panthers defense. All #4 WRs. Better off with Funchess and Norwood starting and making mistakes to learn and show what they can do. We know Ginn, Brown, and Cotchery are all inconsistent with their hands. Cotchery is better than either Ginn or Brown.
