The offense is worse than I thought

bad hands, slow play, and Oher had some Bell moments... If hope Cam hold his own to prove our offensive issue  starts in the box. Shula selects plays by press left and b button. straight tecmo bowl.... I will say this though, Cam's style is too fast for Shula yet it works better for DA . DA didn't get paid 100 mill so  Getts need to kick that bum out of the box.

Oher did have some Bell moments, but at least he didn't have a Bell game heh.

Our defense has great playmakers.  I would hate to waste all that talent waiting for Philly and Ted Ginn to magically become primetime receivers.  Honestly, when it comes to them, it's not even a matter of potential anymore.  We know full well what they can do by now and we know their limits.  This coaching staff needs to get real and begin looking at other options.  If Funchess is healthy, go ahead and throw him into the fire.  Kevin Norwood, put him in, see what the guy can do.

Biggest thing I saw was the O-line seemed to almost get complacent at the end of the game. It was a jailbreak on Stewart's last few carries which lost him a good 6-8 yards, and I swear the guy responsible for blocking Clemons on the field goal never even came out of his stance. The receivers had the yips early on but played well the rest of the game.

100% agree.  That was pissin' me off.

Just because the Jags are historically bad, doesn't mean they are bad this season. They have a very fast and talented young defense. Give them some credit. Can't anybody just enjoy a win? I mean damn. Doesn't matter how pretty it is, as long as you get the win

I hate when people do this, I can find a 3 day old thread of people calling the jaguars a terrible franchise and now all of a sudden "they're good, they have talent" anything to detract from the fact that we struggle against a team that has picked in the top 5,  five straight years.

You know the jags didn't held a team under 300 yards of offense all of last season, but don't worry the panthers would be fine.

sunshine, lollipops and rainbows keep living in fantasy land.

All I know if our offense plays like that again we are gonna get our asses handed to us.

You have to understand, he doesn't want us to win.

If good things happen for the Panthers, he looks like an idiot.

That's why he has to come in and try to take a dump on everybody being happy about a victory.

we won by two scores. That's a blow out by Rivera's standards. This Offense is not built on scoring 30 points plus a game. Even with Benjamin healthy. We played good D and got the win.

And thats one of the reasons why this team is not ready to play for a superbowl yet, field a team that doesnt have the offensive talent capable of reaching 30 points and you will be sitting at home in February. Approaching every game hoping a defense can hold a team under 2 scores is not a good philosophy to have or at least it has been the last 2 years. A Rivera coached team is supposed to win games against teams like Jags, thats not the issue. All those games we were scored on a lot and early in the game were over before they even started.  We are not built to come back or fight from behind, that doesnt work against good teams.

Couldn't get a good stream last night so I had to listen to it.  I got the feeling is was like a reliable car that needs a tune up real bad.  Oh she'll go and get you where you need to go but if we had a tune up she would run much better.

We're we great, nope but we did do enough to win? Yes.

Take away that prevent B.S. our defense did at the end of the first half and we shut Jacksonville down pretty much the whole game.  We gave up a big play or two but our defense played pretty damn good for game one.

Just out of curiosity, did the poster you quoted call the Jags a terrible franchise?   Otherwise, your comment is irrelevant, since different people have different opinions.  You might find 20 or 30 posters who said that the Jaguars are horrible because of how they performed last year.  IMO, this is a flawed way to predict, since teams usually change quite a bit on a yearly basis.

Fwiw, I don't know how good the Jags are going to be, but I do believe they have a solid defensive line.  And Bortles will be a good qb eventually imo.  And I haven't said anything else during the week leading up to the game.  I did predict that the Jaguars would score 6-9 points, but I thought we would only score 12.
