The offense is worse than I thought

Biggest thing I saw was the O-line seemed to almost get complacent at the end of the game. It was a jailbreak on Stewart's last few carries which lost him a good 6-8 yards, and I swear the guy responsible for blocking Clemons on the field goal never even came out of his stance. The receivers had the yips early on but played well the rest of the game.

I knew we had the worst receivers in the league and I never brought into our running game but man the O-line looked bad. If it wasn't for Cam breaking tackles he would been sacked around 6 times today. And that against the punching bag Jaguars.

Hopefully Clowney doesn't play next week

I watched the KC/Houston game today and Clowney was very underwhelming.  Watt, however, looked pretty good.

I think a lot of our fanbase thinks that real football is like madden and that we are supposed to throw for 400 yards a game.

If that is the case, they would probably like the Saints or Indy, because the Panthers play defense, run the ball, play-action and eat the clock. We did all of those pretty well today against a team that is built similar to ours.

We also finally started the season with a win. I think things are looking pretty good.

why should we settle for being only good on one side of the ball??? The defense is not going to have good games every week. why not be balance and able to supplement any shortfalls on either side of the ball...just saying....we are what we are...if we had to get into a shootout on a bad Defensive showing....we would be taking a L and Shula would still have a job because according to the panthers organization. Offense doesn't really mean anything....

the OL was not complacent.  The D was selling out to stop the run because they knew that we were not putting the ball in the air.  Pretty simple to understand.

This.

Panther football is ball control football and smothering defense. The offense needs to do exactly what it did today. That drive in the 4th quarter to run out the clock was excellent. Shula shuffled things around and let Cam go to the no huddle. Wasn't his fault Cam threw a pick.

Shula called a good game and even threw in a few gadget plays that worked but not for a big gain. People who actually didn't have an agenda would admit that we started out fast and efficient. Let's be real here, penalties and drops killed at least 14 points. I was pleased that Cam made good plays and used his head. He kept moving the chains by any means necessary and that really is our team. We are tough and efficient.
