Dexter Jackson visits the Panthers

That's the thing: I saw far more missed plays from Wilson than Munnerlyn. True, Wilson saw more playing time, but this will also be his third year on the roster without securing a starting gig. How many more years are we going to keep him on the roster if he can't convincingly win the nickel position?

Not only that, but Munnerlyn would be a much better special teamer than Wilson.

I think Wilson has won it. I thought he improved with each game and looked to me that his position on the depth chart was correct. Cause he looked like the 3rd best CB. I don't think i even saw Munnerlyn in the last game except for 1 or 2 plays at CB near the end of the game.

Jackson has track star speed and was one of the stars for App St. a couple years ago. Went in the second round to the Bucs, who thought he would be the next Devin Hester.

He only had one season, new regime cut him.

from wikipedia:

"Jackson also proved key in one of college football's biggest upsets, recording two touchdowns and 92 yards as well as 19 yards rushing, in the Mountaineers' 34-32 Week 1 win over the No. 5 ranked Michigan Wolverines. A photograph of Jackson in the act of running the ball past the Michigan defense graced the cover of the September 10, 2007 edition of Sports Illustrated."

"At the NFL Scouting Combine, Jackson ran the manually-timed 40-yard dash (4.27 seconds) faster than any other receiver [2] which bumped his value up the Buccaneers' draft board"

"For some unknown reason (sub 4.3 speed) Jackson was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second round (58th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft. On July 25, he signed a four-year contract. Dexter didn't play much and when he did he seemed timid. This single draft pick was most likely the straw that broke the back of the Jon Gruden and Bruce Allen Regime. Buccaneer Scouting is now in question.

However, the Buccaneers cut Jackson on August 31, 2009."

if a 5'9" player can make a great WR then I'm willing to believe in a 5'8" player as a great CB.

So what's the deal on this Jackson kid? I don't remember the name.

Receiver for App State before being drafted last year by the Bucs. Look at the Clip in an earlier post to see him abuse the Michigan Secondary.
