Shaq Thompson officially the starter Sunday

this was a no brainer better nose for the football.  Faster better in coverage you name it hes better.

Opposing offenses will no longer try to deek Luke by using TE's to take him out of the play and keep him from pass rushing and making plays in opposing backfields.

Luke said he wanted to be in pass rushing blitzes and Gettleman went out and drafted a guy to make that request possible.

More Gettlemagic in action folks. Luke gets his contract and his wish and zeal to blitz.

Shaq-tastic!!!

Shaq completes the circle.

No, he is not ready this Sunday to light the NFL on fire but what he does potentially allow is for us to stay in a true 4-3 as long as McDermont wants to.

The Hebrew Hammer is a nice player but Thompson allows us to keep the same personnel on the field regardless of down and distance or wide-out sets.

His speed and violent tackling style will be fun to watch beginning 9/13/15.

Is anyone worried about his size at the SLB position? Those are two pretty small LB's. The only main concern I have for Shaq is his inability to take on lineman. He seems to just be taken way out of the play. In space and coverage, he seems like he could be special. I just question his ability to stop the run between the tackles on a consistent basis at the SLB position.

Shaq as the starter is the correct move.

Now Tre Boston needs to be starting over Coleman. That may take a big play or two where Coleman and Harper get burned for touch downs, but it will happen. Just wish the move was made so they have a safety on the field who can cover ground, Coleman and Harper are not coming across the field to intercept the ball near the sideline when a top QB was certain the receiver was wide open.

Learn the hard way. Need to move Boston to starting FS and Coleman to SS. Harper comes in for Coleman on red zone packages and dime packages.
