Losing Demarco Murray vs losing KB. Media double standard?

I will keep this short.. Demarco Murray had a staggering 1800 rushing yds last season, hell, he almost had double the amount of rushing yds to KBs rec yds. He was even whispered to be a MVP short lister.

He is gone now and no longer with the Cowboys but the media doesn't even hesitate to still crown them a playoff contender and automatic NFCE champion.

I would say Cam and Romo are about equal, yes they have Dez Bryant and while their D is no slouch ours is superior, yes the O line is good but if pre season is any indication, our O line could be almost as good.

Murray had a way bigger role in the Cowboys success than KB did. Yet, for us, the media thinks we are doomed and say we won't even beat the Jags. Double standard?

BTW, there goes the idea of this post being short, it was shorter in my head lol, sorry.

Running well is all about run blocking....Dallas has one of the best running blocking OLs in the entire NFL.   That hasn't changed. On top of having a great run blocking OL they have a strong WR corp that would prohibit teams from even thinking of overloading to stop it.

We were a one man WR corp last season.....he is now gone.

The two bolded points above.

You can not base the preseason on how well the line will play. Just becuase ours did alright and better than last year does not mean it is 100% fixed and up to the cowboy's line standards. Their offensive line is down right elite. They are studs left to right which brings me to the second bolded part. That offensive line was the reason the Cowboys had any success last year, not their running back. Not enough credit is given to the big men up front, and Murray had the benefit of running behind the best line in football. That same line kept Romo upright all year so he could throw it to one of the best receivers in the league in Dez Bryant. The other Cowboys running backs are not as good as Murray, but you look at production of Randal behind the line and it shows that they could plug anyone back there and good things could happen.

Also, of course Murray had a way bigger role in the Cowboys success than KB did... KB plays for the Panthers. Duh.

KB, 1008 yards, 9 TDs

all 4 other WRs that logged production, 1228, 5 TDs

That is as one man of a show WR corp as you will see in the NFL

Other receivers, counting tight ends, accounted for 12 TD's, but whatever makes you feel more glum, since that's the state of mind you seem to prefer. I find life a little more pleasant being optimistic, but to each his own.

we are talking about a WR corp.  There job is different.  They create and do different things on a field than a TE.  There big picture role is different.

Greg Olsen being a great TE has nothing to do w/ that conversation.

Has nothing to do w/ being glum.  Has nothing to do w/ being a "Debbie Downer".  It is just talking football.  Our WR corp stinks this year.   Is what it is.  We will try to deal w/ that and hope someone gives us more than believed.
