The Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office has launched an internal investigation of three deputies who reportedly refused to investigate

a Warehouse District nightclub disturbance

Sunday (Sept. 6) involving New Orleans Saints defensive end Cam Jordan.

The deputies refused to investigate, the NOPD report states, and told the couple to speak with NOPD or State Police.

After the couple reported the encounter with Jordan to officers at NOPD's 8^th District station on Royal Street, NOPD Sgt. Samuel Dupre returned with the couple to the club and again sought assistance from the three deputies.

"Because the deputies were working at the location of the incident, had knowledge of the incident, knew which witnesses were present when the incident occurred, and knew the location of any surveillance cameras, Sergeant Dupre attempted to get the deputies to investigate the incident," the NOPD report says. "The deputies made no attempt to investigate the incident."

One of the deputies told Dupre that he needed to speak with a supervisor, the report states, while another deputy told Dupre that about 10 Saints players were in the packed club at the time.

The club was closed at the time of Dupre's arrival and, citing a lack of available evidence, Dupre did not seek out an arrest warrant, the NOPD report says. New Orleans police are reviewing video surveillance regarding the ongoing investigation.

Well if the league is going to automatically throw any player under the bus who gets charged with something, then you can bet hometown police are going to be far more likely to look the other way.  Its the law of unintended consequences.

Calm down, I was being sarcastic in relating the NOPD's clear neglect to the situation (more likely they chose to be negligent because their Star Player will probably be suspended) and compared it to dumb fug Hardy.
