Coach Fox on Sirius

Kirwan and Ryan got a good laugh about Fox answering the questions without actually revealing anything. Fox said he was just practicing for meeting with the local media on Wed. So we can look forward to more of nothing tomorrow.

Ryan made the comment that there was a reason his last name was Fox. Foxy admitted that he hated to give anything away and said he could talk for several minutes without saying anything. They all chuckled and acknowledged that they had all seen him do that before. He had good things to say about Philly and Westbrook in particular. I sure hope he has a man on Westbrook no matter where he goes. 60% of that offense goes through Westbrook on every play.

Smitty could get hurt just as easily making a routine catch as returning a punt. Honestly though, how many punt returners do you see actually get injured returning the kicks? Not many that I can remember...at least in relation to any other position. Now, I agree that if they dont want to put him in ANY other spots where an injury could occur, then punt returner probably wouldnt be a good idea....but he was one of the best in the whole league when he did it, and would probably be just as good, or better if he did it now.

So why did he stop in the first place?

bite my ass. for all you know this guy had 10,000 post before the big crash last year. post count means squat to me. I had a different name. had over 1000 posts and decided to reinvent meself. its all content.

Well if post counts dont mean anything, then why do you feel the need to spout off how many you had before the server crashed?

Although its obvious that post count doesnt = good posting....I mean you said it yourself, you had over 1000 before and look at the useless poo you keep posting.

I'll save everyone the trouble by giving it all away right now...

On who will be returning punts and kickoffs: We have some promising young players on our roster who had a chance to work on it during preseason and some veterans that have done it in the past. We'll evaluate it, look at the tape, and go on from there.

On concerns about the defense coming into the opener: It's something that we've looked at all throughout preseason and there are some things we liked and some things we wished we could had done better. We brought in Leonard and Harris to bring some presence up front and we'll be a bit healthier with our linebackers coming into the season.

On the status of Jonathan Stewart: Did some light work today and he's still day-to-day. We'll keep looking at him and see how far he progresses.

On facing the Eagles on Sunday: They are a good organization with a good coach with a lot of talent on both sides of the ball. It's going to be a tough, physical game and we'll need to be ready for them.

I still think Belichick could out-talk Foxy about nothing but then again, I'm not sure what kind of coach would give everything away and still have a job.

One other small nugget that Fox did reveal (although it goes without saying) , was that he has "allowed" Meeks to install his system, but he retains the right to do the defensive game planning. It will be interesting to see how Meeks handles Fox's meddling. 3 OC's are already gone, could Meeks be the 1st DC.
