Patriots were "In our Huddle"

lol at comparing a punter and a couple crummy OL using PEDs to a long tenured systemic organizational culture of cheating.

of course there is no such thing as a 'little' amount of cheating but said players paid the price for their cheating, some with their careers, while the NFL brushed what the Patriots did under the rug and downplayed the enormous scope.

And half of Carolina's players were on steroids... Sooo...

I hate the Patriots as much as the next guy but this witch hunt is getting old and played out.

Dumb retort.

5 out of 52 does not equal half.

Nor did our front office conspire with the NFL to cover up the offenses.

Im way over that 03 crap anyway.  Just don't throw bullpoo statements out there.

The Panthers have every right to shout from the mountaintops about this by the way. Suggesting they should move on and accept being cheated out of the ultimate pinnacle of the goal every team strives for just so you can hear more adam schein analysis about your fantasy team or listen to chris berman vocally fondle the steelers and patriots on live television is a bit selfish.

I actually think the fact that our O-line and punter got busted for roiding during the superbowl run isn't a good look for us. And yes... it kind of diminishes our innocence in calling Patriots cheaters. Fact is... we had cheaters in our lockerroom too.

In fact, many former New England coaches and employees insist that the taping of signals wasn’t even the most effective cheating method the Patriots deployed in that era. Several of them acknowledge that during pregame warm-ups, a low-level Patriots employee would sneak into the visiting locker room and steal the play sheet, listing the first 20 or so scripted calls for the opposing team’s offense. (The practice became so notorious that some coaches put out fake play sheets for the Patriots to swipe.) Numerous former employees say the Patriots would have someone rummage through the visiting team hotel for playbooks or scouting reports.

This is relevant because they just got off free again from cheating.  Every time they won a SB there was questions.  I would cheat too, why not, since nothing happens.   The report mentions signing players to translate calls, which is basically bribery (I know other teams may do this) and so I wouldn't put it past them to reach out to Kasay, it sounds crazy, but the guy never did things like that and was in high pressure situations all year and never got rattled.  It was really quite odd.    The NFL is basically the WWE now and the Patriots are Ric Flair, if you ain't cheatin' you ain't trying.  And legally, they are the same type of company, entertainment.

2 things stand out as I look back at that Super Bowl:

1. Dan Henning was a friggin genius compared to who is doing that job now

2. Despite the Pats cheating, Carolina likely would have won that Super Bowl had a certain Carolina Panther kicker not booted the KO out of bounds and given the Pats the ball on the 45. But mentioning such things is considered blasphemous and will probably get me banned, despite the fact nearly every loss is blamed on someone if you read this message board the day after, but no one ever held Kasay's feet to the fire after his blunder.
