OTL Report: Goodell's Handling of Deflategate was a "Make-up Call," After Letting Pats Slide On Spygate (Panthers Related)

I disagree there, I think it has to violate the rules to be cheating. Is it cheap and shameful and unsportsmanlike? Yes, it's like button mashing in a video game or doing the same move over and over. Makes you a punk but it's not "cheating."

So your defense of them is basically based on semantics then?  You agree that they were "cheap and shameful and unsportsmanlike" but don't think that what they did was actually cheating.

Hey Rodeo, shut the fug up.

Just stating facts...

LOL, and you don't think they were?  Our guys just got caught.

Man, I'd be surprised if more than 25% of the players league-wide were clean.  I'm just saying, they had roiders too, as does every team, so that isn't necessarily a competitive advantage, but stealing calls and taping walkthroughs is a whole different level.

Hey who knows what goes on. All I know is we got caught using roids and they got caught cheating and still are. The thing about it is if the Pats never get punished for cheating why should they stop. Hell Im sure there owner influenced the judge to let Brady go, he owns most of the news corps and could slander that judge right out of a job.

Yes yes yes yes yes!

I was convinced that regardless of what this report said, Goodell would sweep it under the rug, yet again, and get away with it.  I've hated his guts for a while now because he was a party to their cheating.  He could've taken away that fake Superbowl win over us.  We were the better team...  But he didn't.

But, it seems like it's gaining steam.  He has repeatedly and sloppily embarrassed the league and then held their profits over their heads as ransom.  I think the players and even coaches that were privy to a lot of the wrongdoings have had enough of him and the Patriots, and now they're starting to come forward...  This gives me hope, that we might see justice after all.  I don't mean to overstate that, but they are straight scum bags and need to be punished for what they did and continue to do.  In all honesty, I don't care if they don't award us a Superbowl, because too much time has passed, but I would love to see them strip the Pats of those wins.

Did is gonna be good!

Oh, and fug teddy bruschi.

Goodell is just a stooge.  The fact that many of you think he's the Supreme Power in the NFL is laughable.  What he *is* is the All Powerful Oz... and its the NFL owners behind that curtain.

So is Goodell a slimy stooge?  Yes... yes, he is.  But only because he steps and fetches at the beck and call of ownership.  He hasn't done a damn thing in all this time that the majority of the owners haven't approved of.

Now Kraft?  He's getting his just desserts.  What you're seeing happening now is the NFL owner majority telling Kraft "Hey, YOU forgot that WE know where all the dirt is hidden!" and sticking it in his face.

He thought he could face-up to all the rest of his owners and come out the Knight In Shining Armor against the evil NFL Dragons.

He was wrong.

Now his armor is covered in poo.  And I'm laughing my ass off.

Good point...  I love JR, but that is where I kind of lose patience.  JR's money is just as good as any other owner's.  But, the problem is, as the report indicates, Goodell seems to use the "for the good of the league" angle to rally owners together when he comes under fire...  So, even with all of those owners pissed off at him and the Pats, he basically appeals to the idea of them being a brotherhood or fraternity, and above all else, they can't let outsiders inside of it.  Or if all else fails, he can just tell them it will cut their profits, lol...  Regardless, I don't know how so many teams can keep getting ripped off and just take it?

I think this report was evidence of that dam breaking IMO.

Now that doesn't mean that the dam won't be fixed again.  But I think the rest of (or at least the majority of the rest of) the owners got tired of Kraft's accusations and poor lil good guy act and got him back.  And got him in a way that he can't really rebut outside of denying it.

But everybody knows the guilty ALWAYS deny it, right?

There's a huge difference between the two. Being an asshole doesn't invalidate your Super Bowl win. Like I said, my whole problem is with people pretending our Super Bowl loss was an injustice and being sore losers about it over a decade later. They didn't cheat. They were dicks. There's a difference, and being a dick doesn't put an asterisk next to the win.
