Philly Brown and Ted Ginn Jr are the worst starting receiver tandem in the league...

Funchess and both of our starting WRs from last season have been injured. Any team that loses 3 top guys from a single position is going to look weak at that position, doesn't matter who it is.

Hopefully the strength of the defense overall, OLine, Cam, Olsen and running game will be enough to overcome the obvious weakness at WR.

Raiders aren't that much better off either. Michael Crabtree, who had a good year in 2012, but has otherwise been nothing to tell mom about in his career. Then Amari Cooper, who was great in college, but unproven as of yet as he is just a rookie. Things aren't looking great for Oakland either, folks.

We're not in a great spot, but let's not act like we're doomed.

I'd papercut my balls if it meant we could trade Brown and Ginn for Crabtree and Cooper straight-up tomorrow.

This is a poor opinion, the kind of which neutral fans laugh at as being homerish.

How so? Douglas had ONE good season. One. Wright is young and shows a ton of promise, but IDK that I'd absolutely take him over Brown or Ginn and considerate an immediate improvement right now, on the hoof. Now, as the season goes, the Douglas/Wright tandem may prove to be more productive, and at that point, I'll redact this statement. I just think Brown and Ginn can produce if given the reps as starters and the opportunity. They haven't been afforded the opportunity and we're writing them off because Brown had a rough preseason and Ginn has only ever been a #3 or #4.

Again, Douglas only showed what he could do once he was able to start 11 games for the Falcons in a season.

With all that I've said, Amari Cooper would be amazing here. But I temper my expectations for receivers for a few years. WRs in this league aren't necessarily going to show you who they are for a few years. A lot of guys come in, blow it up one year, and disappear entirely. Not saying he will, just saying.

You have a poor opinion of your team. It is a team remember? Its week one, have some faith. The situation does not seem ideal but no need to fold. Those guys arent giving up.

"We have the worst __________ in the league. We are doomed."

-The Carolina Huddle, every single fuging year.

And then we have a losing season but nobody acknowledges that the Chicken Littles were right, and then the next year we have the same batch of self styled pragmatists saying to calm down.

Wright's actually considered a bit of an underachiever.

you say losing season, I say back to back division titles, so it can certainly be spun both ways.
