Does Cam take a step this year?

To answer the OP, yes, I do think that he does, but I'm not convinced that he will ever pass the "eye test" if you are only looking at the stat sheet, just not who he is.

As Cam has more and more experience reading defenses and getting his footwork in order, things will start to look easier for him out there.

Little more touch on short passes and a little more leading receivers would be enough to make the happy this year.

The third game of the pre season was the best I've seen of him in a long time.  I hope that becomes the norm.

this. cam has shown what he can do as a passer. It's just the consistency. Cam is going to have bad games. Every qb in the league does. But what we saw this third preseason game was masterful. He checked out of plays, went through all of his progressions, and threw touch on his passes. Again drops are going to happen, you just want to limit them, but if Corey and Greg don't drop those passes, Cam is like 26/31 for 300 yards and 2 tds in 2 and a half quarters. I don't think I've seen Cam dominate the pocket and defense for that much consistently in a game.

again though, and what thered has reiterated, we cannot have him run like that bengals game last year. He's gonna get gassed and his footwork and mechanics will suffer.

i think Cam is definitely on the right track and I'm really excited for him. Let's hope these wrs step up because we need that run game to go. And we will lean on that run game heavily I would imagine.

The thing with Cam has always been his consistency. His passes fluctuate game to game. One game he will look like Rodgers with his pin point accuracy and another game he looks like he couldn't hit a side of a barn. All Cam has EVER needed is that consistent game to game accuracy. As for his touch, I've seen more touch from him in this preseason than I think I did his whole career here. He also looked like he was perfecting the back shoulder throw as you saw with that TD to KB. Bottom line though, he we want to go deep into the playoffs, Cam has to take that next step.
